So there is buzz going around that he wants to play again. What a shock.

All Favre did was give us a different look at the same story this year.... except he threw in a retirement PC instead of back and forth "I am, I am not, I am not sure, make up my mind next month" with the media.

I always thought the guy was good... not great... but he is really showing his skirt.

Brett Favre-QB-Packers Apr. 3 - 2:42 pm et

Brett Favre's agent denies a Los Angeles Times report that he has been approaching teams about trading for the quarterback.
"That is absolutely false. Absolutely false, and you can quote me on that," his agent said. Sam Farmer of the Times is a well-respected name, so the story shouldn't totally be dismissed. Why would the agent deny it so vehemently if Favre wasn't at all interested in it? Favre hasn't filed his retirement papers yet.

Dang. He shed all them tears for nothing at his last retirement.

I'm so sick of him.

The Packers should just go on and ignore him and cut him if he comes back.

Tears didn't stop Seau from coming right back.

My math is a little fuzzy...

but... 2+2 usually equals 4.
McCarthy doesnt want Favre as his starter.

He doesnt trust his decision making and I dont blame him. Favre has history of nightmare decisions that prob kept his coaches up at night.

McCarthy aint having it.:clap2:

Yea and Farve is so immortalized in Green Bay that if the coach would go against him he would be hated by the fans and might possibly loss his job. Farve was holding the team back IMO.

He is? Because you guys have seen where Favre himself has said he is thinking of returning? Right?

What do you mean no?

So what we've got is some LA time guy, respected or not (I've personally never heard of him) saying Favre's agent has contacted teams. Yet the agent denies it and the whole idea seems to hindge on the idea that because he hasn't filed papers yet?

Please.

Favre is done. He isn't coming back.

You guys know Aikman was tempted to come back after he retired too, right? And get this, one of the teams he was tempted to sign with was the Eagles to replace an injured McNabb.

I really don't get the Favre hate. It's not his fault commentators love him.

Typical Mick, Some sportswriter says Favres agent is asking about him getting back in and the agent comes out flatly and denies it happened but you jump on FAvre when he had nothing to do with it. Guilt by just having his name in the conversation. Is there any logic at all in teh report. Do you think he would want to go to a rebuilding team where he would get killed. The only team he would have returned to play for was Green Bay because they have a good team with a chance for the Super Bowl.

Favre is not coming back. Ever. He is not going to play in Green Bay and he surely will not be playing for any other team. Rumors will come out over the next couple of years that Favre will be coming back but it will not be Favre starting the rumors.

As far as McCarthy, he wanted FAvre to come back for one more year. He said in a PC this week that he thought the packers were one year away from having to deal with Favre leaving. He talks to him a couple of times a week. Not the kind of relationship you would think someone would have that they are glad to get rid of.

And he never said "I am, I am not, I am not sure, make up my mind next month" with the media."

My take on Favre's retirement PC was that he simply didn't enjoy the demands McCarthy put on him to study and really work at the job.

I don't doubt he would be interested in continuing to play if he could just free-lance and gun-sling like he did the majority of his career. But McCarthy won't allow him to play without putting in the work during the week that he demands.

Favre will go down as arguably the most loved or liked player of all time in the NFL and just like anything else, that kind of status brings out the hate from those that don't like him.

You don't have any idea what you are talking about. As Favre has gotten older he knew that he had to study more, work harder, practice harder, train harder because his physical skills were not what they were in 1997. He decided he didnt want to do it anymore this year and at 38 yrs old who can blame him. Favre is not going to go out without practicing, studying and putting in the time needed to succeed. Even the years that you think he was just free lancing which he wasn't, he was putting the hours into practice, studying, and training. No coach would allow a QB to play without putting the work in the week that is needed. Not just McCarthy. And FAvre has NEVER been seen as somebody that didn't do his studying and film work and training.

And you do?

You lose ALL credibility with the 2nd bolded part. Come on.

All I can see about that is... we saw that in real time for many years. So it is in fact, true.
