Yup he is a devastating blocker...Too bad he cant catch a cold.

Neither can Marty B., but he's the #2 TE. We have enough people to catch, it all starts with blocking.

There should be more than blocking to the FB role. We haven't had a passing option at that position since Anderson. Too bad.

I agree.

Deon Anderson is completely disregarded as a potential receiving threat by opposing defenses whenever he's on the field and that makes defending our other skill players easier to do.

That's what we saw rookie tight end John Phillips' role increase at the end of the season, he diversified the offense while still being a capable blocker as the H-back.

Anderson's greatest value to the team, IMO, has been on special teams and it's there anyone hoping to take his spot will have to perform well enough to make him expendable.

He may lose out to a TE turned H-Back.

Who, Sicko? I'd be very surprised if Sicko even makes the roster. Deon would have to get suspended for Sicko to ever be considered to replace him.

Gronkowski, Sicko, Phillips.

My guess is Phillips as an H-back, Sicko as the #3 TE/#2 H-back.

I still like Gronkowski to take away Deon place

The elder Gronkowski gives UA a nifty multi-dimensional threat in the backfield in 2009... A backfield blocking specialist at H-Back or motion back, Gronkowski quickly earned playing time and started seven games as the top at his position in 2008... Second-team All-Pac-10 Academic Football Team... Finished with eight receptions, but they went for 198 yards to lead the team at 24.8 yards per grab, most earning first downs... Two key receptions in bowl victory including a 24-yard touchdown catch and earlier grab for a first down on same drive... Touchdown catch at Oregon in his career-high outing (3-84)... Helped change complexion of motion-back position with the pass-catching ability, although his blocking ability remained a key to the playing time... Season-long 37-iyard TD catch against Ducks... One catch for 14-yard TD against Idaho... Played linebacker in his first UA season n '07...

Chris Gronkowski may not be the natural his brother is, but his strong weight room numbers suggest he's put in the work: 405-pound bench press, 600-pound squat and 345-pound power clean. He runs the 40 in "the low 4.7s."

Marty B had one bad yr & you wanna talk smack about him... it's the same with Roy Williams ya'll don't wanna give anyone a fair chance... he caught the ball great his first yr & was great at blocking also he made the only catch in the Minnesota game on 3rd down that got us any points & it was a good catch at that I might add...

His 1st season was good from a back-up standpoint & he's only played 2 seasons so give the guy a chance...

Yes, he deserves a chance. But right now he's only batting 50%, and I believe most peoples problem with him is his fondness for the twitters and you tube clips taking away form his concentration on the game.

To be honest he's had two good years. His overall numbers dropped last yr, but his blocking was outstanding. He doesnt control how many passes get thrown his way.
