FB reps?

But that is not enough to keep him on the team, if any of the other guys competing with him shows they are more versatile and do an adequate job of run blocking Deon will be gone. Bank on it! Even the causal fan knows that almost every time Deon is in the game it's going to be a run! Time we stop tipping our hand.

Actually it is enough to keep him on the team, barring suspension. What you just described is a problem the offensive coordinator needs to fix, not Deon.

People keep bringing up Moose, like he was just here yesterday. We haven't used a FB as much more than a run blocker in a very long time.

We have enough trouble getting the ball to all the other weapons, getting it to the FB is the least of our concerns.

They aren't looking for a versatile FB, they want a guy that can run block and play special teams. If you look at John Conner, who we took a look at before the draft and was very popular around here, he's basically Deon Anderson II. Good run blocker that plays well on special teams.

Why do you think they have so many people competing for the HB role the offensive coordinator is trying to fix it.

I have never brought up Moose or any other past Cowboy FB but you act like having a guy that is versatile is a bad thing. BTW you do remember that other Anderson we had here not too long ago he was a pretty solid FB that wasn't one-dimensional.

It's not like the team is looking for somebody to catch 20-30 balls from the position but you can best believe more then a 3 catch per season guy. Getting the ball to our FB/HB is not our problem. The problem is that he is not a threat to get it either.

Yes I would be happy with a guy like Conner who's scouting report not only called him the best blocking back in the SEC but also said he was A capable running threat and a reliable pass catcher. We could use that kind of player at FB/HB.

Now look at the scouting reports on some of the players we actually have on the team right now competing for the FB/HB role Chris Gronkowski, Scott Sicko, and Nick Tow-Arnett. Not a one of those guys would be considered as blocking backs and or special teams guys only.

John Conner and Deon's scouting report coming out of college are almost identical, just so you know.

Not that it really matters because Deon has proven to be one dimensional but the reports on Deon I can find say he was not a natural pass catcher and is considered a true lead blocker.

So what ever report your talking about was obviously wrong on him if they said he can do more then lead block and play special teams.

All you have to do is actually watch the games to tell Deon is a "true lead blocker".

Very few FB's are "Natural Pass Catchers", that doesn't mean they can't catch.

If you're trying to argue that Deon is a bad FB, I'm sorry but he is. I don't know what to tell you, watch the games.

You won't find me saying any place that Deon is a bad FB so don't argue both sides bro....Deon is an outstanding blocking FB like have been saying... He just is one dimensional.

I'm saying the team is looking for more offensive versatility from the position and because of that Deon's job is on the line.
