Has anyone asked themselves why a McCarron is ranked as a mid round pick? He is a multiple year starter for one of the top football programs in the country and has had Pro level coaching. He is 6-3, so it's not as if he is too short. He has not been in trouble or anything like that.

Basically, the only remaining reason is that people don't believe that he has NFL talent.

Because Mel Kiper said so.

So we are going to reach on a guy in the 3rd that does not play a true position, too short for DE in 4-3 and can't play OLB in 3-4. Sorry i believe 3rd rounders a depth guys their first year starters by year 2 or 3.

Dumerville, Mathis, freeney, they say hi...plus he has long arms & killed it in the sec... I'll take him in the third & wouldn't be mad in the second. Guys a football player, something this team is severely lacking.

Not a fan of Donald, especially at 16/17, but that's just me. Really hoping we don't draft a WR. If/When we cut Miles, I'd rather sign a journeyman free agent, that can play on the outside and just roll with Dez, Williams, Beasley and Harris. Maybe a late round WR so we carry 6, but not a second rounder. Again, JMO, but I don't take Sam in round 3 unless he kills at the scouting combine.

He obliterated offensive tackles all year from both sides of the line, too. Not just the weak side.

And he is giving away 20 pounds to mathis and almost 40 to dumervil. Won't even go into how he projects as a 4th or 5th best case scenario.

Are you referring to Sam? If so, where do you get your numbers from? Dumervil is listed at 5'11 260, Freeney is listed at 6'1 268 and Mathis is listed at 6'2 246.

At 6'1.5 260, Sam is almost the same build as Freeney/Dumervil and very similar to Mathis as well

Making up numbers. Michael Sam is almost identical in size to DeMarcus Ware.

Are you saying that Elvis Dumerville weighs 295lbs?

The dude can flat out rush the passer.

I bet a team like Seattle is going to draft him.

Robert Mathis - 6'2", 246lbs
Elvis Dumervil - 5'11", 260lbs
Michael Sam - 6'2", 260lbs

Try harder to hide your dislike.

I can't speak for anyone else but he just seems.... soft to me.

I was a fan as a draft target until I saw the OU game. He didn't have to deal with a lot of pressure his entire career because he always had the top OL in the country and a great running game. In the OU game he had to deal with a lot of pressure and a mix of coverages and he looked like a deer in headlights.
I think he may be an okay backup somewhere but I don't think he's a franchise guy. I think that is why a lot of folks peg him as a mid-round pick.
Of course...Aaron Rodgers looked like garbage in his last bowl game too and he turned out aight.

McCarron as XW was alluding to lacks an NFL arm. Might be a Jason Garrett type but more is doubtful.

Other picks seem fine tho a WR in 2 is odd unless we are trading Dez while his value is sky high.n

Too high in Donald. Dont think this is the best place for Sam, last thing this team needs is another distraction.
