If you read my follow-up post, dbair was alluding to more than just those things. I was asking what they were, cuz he seemed to have alot more animosity towards Vick than the norm and this was BEFORE the water bottle and dogfighting nonsense. It's not about defending or supporting him. I'm just curious.

People get so caught up on taking sides as if they have a personal stake in the outcome. I don't. I was just wondering where the utter hatred was coming from and if it was based on what is publicly known.

I just get tired of the excuses and the second, third or fourth chances some think people are supposed to get.

I didn't know that I was making excuses for Vick. I simply asked a question. Again, you might not have a personal stake, but you sure have a solid stance on what you feel about him...and that's ok. But I find it just as annoying when someone wants to engage in dialogue from a different perspective and someone jumps down their throat.

There are lots of enormous threads. There's like a 1,000 post name that song thread in the OT zone right now.

We'd probably have longer topical threads if there wasn't an Opinion Zone, back in the day. Once things got off track, like this thread, they got dumped in the Opinion Zone and died a fast death.

Faster than the painful death many of Vick's mauled dogs no doubt endured.

But you get the feeling there are those posting on this thread that could see a UTube video of Vick leading a pit bull wearing a #7 cape into the secret fighting room, pulling out his billfold to bet on him and screaming "kill 'em Mike" and they'd be complaining that the tape was probably doctored by someone who has it in for poor Michael. We won't get the tape but I have a feeling the picture will continue to become clearer as time goes on.

I didn't say a majority, but it wouldn't surprise me that large numbers do in fact indulge in that particular habit. It's not about condoning the behavior, I just don't think it makes Vick's turdism stand out that much more than any other player who likes to do it.
