Feelings on our head coach so far

Things seem to be better in Dallas since the Shottenheimer hire.A great coaching staff has been hired and I like direction the team seems to be heading in .Dallas seems to quicker at making decisions as well, I am optimistic.
HOW? "Better"?

Remember, the plan was to rehire MM. All this "fresh blood" and "new energy" talk is lipstick on a pig.

he is new. that's what Jerry does. things fall apart under the old coach and he shakes coaching staff. he did it with garrett and before that wade and so on...this is his way of generating hope and then he markets the shiet out of it....

so what people feel is slight ray of hope, out with the old, in with the new....but nothing has really changed.....same culture. same players. same GM and eventually the new coaching staff witll end up just like the others.....

and I called it, said it mid season. this season was a disaster. Jerry felt the heat and anger and only couple of wins against crappy teams at the end of the season saved his arse. now he will sign a token FA this season to show we are changing. he won't go for top of the heap of FAs, probably second tier. and then bang the drum with signing FAs, spending money, blah blah...same old same old. EXACTLY the same thing happened when he hired MM. he signed McCoy, Dix, Poe, all second and third tier FAs at the time...none of them worked out because at that point of their careers they sucked.

he will do the same this year.
It's up to Ol Jerry and son to do a better job now, will they. We will soon see if the culture has changed or not.

Besides losing Al Harris this is a better coaching staff, the rest is up to the GM.
Jerry loves you.
I seriously doubt he even knows I exist, I am a Homer though since the Landry and Staubach days .

Obviously, we have no idea yet as of this March 5 of his first year.

Is he going to be the next Landry or Shula? Of course he probably isn't. Is he going to be bad enough to hold us back? I doubt it.

I don't think it matters that much until we have better players, especially at QB. Get a top roster and then maybe we judge if he's holding the team back or not. Not sure such a thing is possible with the culture of Jerry being Big Boss anyway.

It’s Brain Schottenheimer.

He’s going to be the same thing he was at his 12 previous NFL/College jobs.

A failure.

If he wasn’t a nepo baby he’d be selling these easily fooled fans a car somewhere.
Obviously KMoore would have been the #1

The 2025 schedule is brutal.

After the draft….we will know more.

0-17 gets him fired.

1-16 fired.

it's way too early to judge the job that Schotty has done to this point. How this team plays this season will determine that. But, it's also important to point out that this hire was for one reason, and one specific reason only - our beloved $60 million a year QB. This front office seems determined to sink or swim with Dak and thus every subsequent decision is made with him in mind. I am convinced that the decision to bring Zeke back in 2024 was for Dak's comfort, although there were better backs to choose from. This year we are once again considering OL in the first round. Why, because apparently Dak needs to be surrounded by five OL drafted in the 1st round to give him more time to miss receivers down the field.

How are we feeling about him so far. How much of an impact is he having on the team and the people in the front office? It seems like the players are buying in even before having a practice!

What kind of coach do you think he'll be, will he be tough yet fair, will he be a nice coach easy going or what? Has he mentioned anything in the news that really stood out to you?

The comments on being a physical team that meant a lot. Maybe him being in the background allowed him to see how our team was constructed under the former coach. He couldn't say or do much because it wasn't him team. Now it's his team, several people saw a lot in him to vouch for him to be our head coach. I'm intrigued, please give your thoughts
My thoughs are mixed. He's been an assistant for so long (on 6 differemt teams), and is already 51 years old, and hasn't been a head coach yet? The most successful NFL head coaches nearly all became the head coaches, either in college or the NFL, much younger. Perhaps he was just biding his time until the right circumstance came along, not saying just due to his age I'd not think he could do well.

Being with a number of teams could also be a good thing, exposed to lots of schemes and players.

He says the right things, but how hard is that to do? Remember MM said he watched every NFL game when he was out of coaching, then said that was a lie. I want to see action before I'm ready to jump on the bandwagon.

I'll watch and see what happens, no expectations.

I'm just happy about a fresh approach. Likable guy how far does that translate into wins

Too early to tell, I like the staff hires around him.
Y
He’s got a goofy look to his face - 10

Could also be a clapper - 10

Father was a pretty good coach + 10
