Felix Jones vs LSU

Considering Arkansas only has a running game, and the entire world knows someone's going to run it, for them to still do it and succeed is great.

You can do stuff like that in college, much harder in the NFL.

I think the Vikings may fit that running orientate team. I am not sure though because I only saw like 2 viking games last year but the announcers kept mentioning how the vikings run the ball time and time again. Then again look at who they had at qb. He did come along though a bit towards the end but little too late.

Except we'll be passing it also, so NFL teams can't key in to Barber/Jones.

Sees a crease and there is a nice burst. If he can beat the safety, he'll be very effective.

His burst is incredible. The amount of ground he covers in his first few steps down field is simply amazing. LSU was dominating Arkansas at the line of scrimmage too. Thos first few runs, he was running into two defenders because they beat their man.

The one thing that concerns me on some of those YouTube vidoes is you see him caught from behind on many occasions (not in this one, but others). I think that's where the lack of true straight speed comes into play. To Jones' credit, though, it seems like the majority of such runs came earlier in his career. Any idea if he got faster as he matured there?

I think I've seen all of them, and havent seen what you claimed.

I dont know if its true, but supposedly he was caught from behind only once in his career, and that was by Troy CB Leodis McKelvin

Looked like a carbon copy of JJ the last 3 years to me. Very unimpressive.

Not one time did I see him brake the spine of one of is OL men.

Looks good to me - that's one heluva defense that he was going against dont forget.

The only problem with going off this video is Felix Jones and DMAC were the focus against LSU who had by far the most talented defense in the nation.

He still had decent numbers.

When he comes to Dallas he walks into one of the best offenses in the league and he is not the only guy teams will have to worry about.

That will allow us to get him in open space.

He'll be fun to watch.

Not that impressed but never really have been by him. I still think Charles gives you the same things as Felix except we could have traded down into the second and maybe picked up an extra second to get a WR.

Well, he's our guy now so have to cheer for him to do well.

well, if he comes in a gets over 4 a carry. i'd be happy with that.

You guys are unbelievable!!

What do you expect out of a guy?! Run a tape of every carry McFadden, OJ Simpson, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, etc. ran and you will see nothing plays. You are so used to watching highlight videos you've completely lost perspective.

I'm not being a homer. That was a very impressive tape.

Look at that run the 2:30 mark. Speed to the outside! Look at the 4th down run with the game on the line! First down! Look at the 2 point cvonversion with the game on the line! Cut it up inside...2 points!

Yep, I've never seen him caught from behind either.

What I like is that he is versatile......he can run, catch passes, return kicks....

That is what the Boys need.....Barber is going to get his.....but Felix should be a nice complement....plus the RED BALL genius will find ways to utilize his weapons......should be fun to watch...

Oh yeah, Miles Austin should be worried about his job......cause his days of kick returns are OVER......and we all know he cannot catch....:laugh2:

I'm still trying to figure out why he warrants a first round pick. Doesn't show much ability to break tackles and really seems to need a nice big hole to showcase his speed. Where are the yards after contact? That works great in college, but it's a rarity in the NFL.

He did look a lot like Julius to me. Maybe he has better hands - that would be an upgrade. The run at roughly the 1:30 mark is so Julius-esqe it's frightening.

he has quick feet when making his cots and he also has great instincts. I'm really glad we took him

No, he actually picked up for yds. JJ would had found a OL men to run into.
