I love Zeke as a player. I HATE the idea of drafting a RB in the top 5. I'm trying to prepare myself for them actually doing it, though, if it comes down to it, and honestly, trying to talk myself into being okay with it. I'm not there yet.

If he is the pick, I hope we hope we give him the ball 25 times a game, 16 games a year for 5 years, then move on. I can buy the argument that RBs are worth a first round pick (not top 5) more than I buy they idea that they're worth big contracts after their rookie deal. After 400 touches a year, 2,000 over his rookie contract (never mind playoff games), I won't be on board with giving him Charles, McCoy, Peterson money. Based on the press confrence, I think that's where Jerry&Co. are at as well.

Here's what I'll convince myself is the plus side: We got a difference maker over a 5 year period whod could potentially be as valuable as Dez over that span. Our defense will suck, but we may be able to control the clock enough to compete with anyone. In addition, the draft is loaded at the DL spots. We could grab a DE and 1T who could help our pass rush, knock on wood. Plus, the kid will be fun as **** to watch.

Again, I don't want him at 5. I think it's a bad move that we'll come to regret if he gets hurt and/or in 5 years when it's time to move on. But, I'll try to find the positive side and enjoy the ride.

Like I do every time they make a pick I am not in favor of. "They know what they are doing, right????"

While Elliott would not be my pick if it where mine to make I do think he is a very good player who would have a chance to make an instant impact on the team. My reaction with him should he be the pick is easy, Welcome to the Dallas Cowboys I will be pulling for you buddy.

I would think it was a very bad move (value, we already have a 1,500 yard back in the stable, D needs where value meets need etc.), but if he is a Cowboy I will root for him to be the best in the league and cheer him on every Sunday.

I would curse Jerry every which way from Sunday though.

Indifference.

Neither upset nor excited. He's a fine player and likely will be a very good player. But I think it's not a great use of that 4th pick.

Complain on CZ about how Jerry sucks and is ruining the team I love.

At this point, I'm fine with just about anyone. If the group likes a player like Zeke, then obviously I'll root for him just as hard as any other Cowboy to lead us to the SB.

Short term he is the biggest impact and could help prolong Romos' career because of his natural pass catching and superior pass protection (blocking) abilities. Futhermore he fits the Zone Blocking scheme to near perfection, it's his game.

However, long term he's trumped by several players in the Draft and immeaditely he doesn't fit the roster in the aspect of Front Office cap/signings.

So taking Zeke is not a reason to be disappointed from a fan perspective, but I don't feel it's in the cards like other options could/should be, including selecting J.Ram and/or a Trade Down with Tunsil.

If he's really as good as he's supposed to be how can you be mad at the pick? This defense will not be fixed by sitting on your hands in FA and one draft.

Most impactful player on the bored so hard to be mad.

Can you expand on this? Not that I don't believe you, but I've never really thought about how the spread, read option translates to NFL schemes.

I'd hate it in principle, think it's a bad use of premium resources, then hope he makes up for it with big plays and leadership ability.

I have to admit, it would be fun to see him running it on game days, though. RBs are fun to watch, for sure.

The off the field concerns are why I don't want any Ohio State player in the process and there are many that will go early. 13 in the top 100 and they are all possible Ravers.
