Same as any move they make that I don't like. Complain about the decision that got the player here, but root for them because they are here. It's not hard to differentiate the two.

I love Zeke as a player. I HATE the idea of drafting a RB in the top 5. I'm trying to prepare myself for them actually doing it, though, if it comes down to it, and honestly, trying to talk myself into being okay with it. I'm not there yet.

If he is the pick, I hope we hope we give him the ball 25 times a game, 16 games a year for 5 years, then move on. I can buy the argument that RBs are worth a first round pick (not top 5) more than I buy they idea that they're worth big contracts after their rookie deal. After 400 touches a year, 2,000 over his rookie contract (never mind playoff games), I won't be on board with giving him Charles, McCoy, Peterson money. Based on the press confrence, I think that's where Jerry&Co. are at as well.

Here's what I'll convince myself is the plus side: We got a difference maker over a 5 year period whod could potentially be as valuable as Dez over that span. Our defense will suck, but we may be able to control the clock enough to compete with anyone. In addition, the draft is loaded at the DL spots. We could grab a DE and 1T who could help our pass rush, knock on wood. Plus, the kid will be fun as **** to watch.

Again, I don't want him at 5. I think it's a bad move that we'll come to regret if he gets hurt and/or in 5 years when it's time to move on. But, I'll try to find the positive side and enjoy the ride.

I'm burning all things Cowboys and will switch to watching the underwater basket weaving championship!!!!!!!

I would think it was a very bad move (value, we already have a 1,500 yard back in the stable, D needs where value meets need etc.), but if he is a Cowboy I will root for him to be the best in the league and cheer him on every Sunday.

I would curse Jerry every which way from Sunday though.

Who is a 1500 yard back on this roster?

To me Ezekil is a bit overhyped.

He is no Gurley. He is a bit better then Gordon. So to me he is a late first round or early second round talent.

But then this year is not last year. He will probably be gone by 13 to Miami.

We are set at RB. Of course it would be nice to have him but we have other bigger needs.

In this draft i am all for trading back (regardless of the Ezekil discussion). With that in mind i would not be happy seeing us trading back and then at (maybe) 10 take him. But with that extra gained 3rd or 2nd round pick i could live with him. I would go nuts if we take him at 4. Id rather have Tunsil at 4 then him.

That was a long time ago. He isn't close to the same guy.

It was in a different system, one a lot like ours. He was only 26 last year. I don't know that he'll ever be the same guy, but he's got some juice left and will do much better here than he did in WASH the last two years.

That sounds like it was 15 years ago and he had only one good season to show for.

Morris went for
2012 1613yds 4.8yds/c
2013 1,275 4.6
2014 1,074 4.1

his only "true" down year was last year.

This will only be his fifth year in the league. He played for a team which had QB problems and was in disarray from the start of his career.

Morris is not a 3 down back but i do think he does have the potential to flourish in our system.

McFadden showed that he needs carries in a game to be successfull. He gained over 1k yds without a passing game and playing essentially only 2/3 of the season. I do think he also could give us a 1.5k back.

The only problem i have with Run DMC is that our running game never looked dominant with him. I think that will change with Morris.

I'll just shake my head and life will continue. Hope my team is doing the right thing but every part of me thinks they're being fools. I'm not in the organization and certainly no expert so I'll hold out hope I prove to be the fool.

I just find it funny how so many people hate the idea of drafting a RB in the top 5 but rejoice when they get a cornerback that high.

Mark it down. Barring unforeseen injury, Ezekiel Elliott will make much more of an impact in the NFL than Jalen Ramsey. It won't even be close. Like Todd Gurley to Morris Claiborne.

I don't want any RB at #4. That said, if the Cowboys select Elliott or Bosa or even an outlier like Buckner, I'll be sorry we didn't get Ramsey, but I trust the guys know more than I do, and any of those players will make us a better team; any of those guys will have excellent careers. I don't see any of these named players having any risk of bust.

All will be fine. Many of us would be fine with a trade down, but while that brings an extra 2 or 3, it also increases the chance that we get a guy who never gets the job done. We have two RBs who are good 3rd down guys in McFadden and Dunbar, and we have an excellent short yardage grinder in Morris. Yet Elliott is shopped as the every down guy who doesn't need to leave the field. I don't see the max value of that mix and would prefer a RB in round 4, but Elliott will be great, so if he's a Cowboy, I'll enjoy the heck out of watching him.

Bottom line....we all have our favorites and our reasons, but I don't think Ramsey, Bosa, Elliott, and Buckner would all be great players for us....not a bust or JAG in the group, and it's foolish to argue otherwise. I'm happy.

Ridiculous comparison. Your comment is true, though duh....AP has a bigger impact on the NFL than Revis or Sherman. That's the nature of being an offensive star vs a defensive star at a position the offense can simply avoid. But to compare Ramsey to Mo is weak.

I wont go into what you predict. But i do admit i have a problem if we'd take Ramsey.

I just dont like the idea of taking a player that high who "could" play CB and "could" be good or play Saftety and "could" be great.
A player taken at 4 has to be great at the position he plays. Not a maybe this or that.

Another thing is what do we do with all those FS type of players if we draft Ramsey ? We need at least one SS. Lets invest in that position and draft a real CB.

And really what impact has AP made for the Vikings?

There isn't a cornerback on the planet I'd draft with the 4th overall pick. That pick needs to produce an impact player. When the Cowboys announce Ramsey tomorrow, know that they essentially forfeited the selection. It means nothing. It changes nothing.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Claiborne carried just as high of a grade in his draft as Ramsey does this year. You just think he didn't.

Yep and the playmaker is preaching that same tune. What scares me is all this Zeke and Ramsey smoke we are reading and hearing. Watch them take Bosa...maybe I should start a thread about what the non bosa crowd will do if he gets drafted....
