Now this is my opinion but there's just something about him that has me feeling that way. I believe that he was held back by Schultz and we are going to see him blossom into a top10 TE this season. He reminds me of Andrews in Baltimore.
I can see that comparison and it would be great if he can get there.

Can we talk about this guy a bit. Reading through his scouting reports he was projected to be a 6th rounder. Decent but not a great athlete. A bit of a plodder. Average blocker. A rotational guy.

I have been impressed by this guy since day 1. Last year he showed great athleticism for a 250 pounder. That play when he vaulted the defenders! Yesterday he grabbed one over the top running a nice seam route over the middle. Plays with strength. Good hands. Can separate. Haven’t seen him get beat blocking too often. In my opinion a way better athlete than the scouting reports portrayed. He might have been caught up in a few average Wisconsin teams. I really like this guy. Opinions?

I agree. I missed your post. They will probably merge them. Thanks for pointing him out. Fans are sleeping on this guy.

Yup. However, that makes our 2nd round reach worse.

he wasn't held back. before the draft last year, we only had Schultz on the team. we tagged him and hedged out bets. went into the draft knowing we need a TE and got schultz. his scounting report had him as 4th to 6th round talent. so we didn't know how he would play in the NFL until he actually got to play. that's why Schultz is no longer here because we found a cheaper replacement. I think its the one personnel move in the past few years that the GM actually got right.

I'll be here smiling at the end of the season. I will be prepared to eat crow if I'm wrong. Will you?
No I won't eat crow when you're wrong. I'll still be laughing that you thought he'd be great.

Jake Ferguson. Future greatness.

You're not going to be laughing because you are wrong. I know that you think you know everything but you don't. We'll see here soon enough.

I'm not going to pretend we need to wait and see for something so completely idiotic.

Jake Ferguson will never be great at anything pertaining to the NFL. You're simply fan boying right now because he makes a few plays.

Great is Rob Gronkowski. Jason Witten. Travis Kelce. That is not attainable for this player.

I think that it is attainable for him and we're going to watch it together.

Yeah, I wouldn't go as far as "great." I saw every snap Jake played in H.S. and college. Not very athletic and a below average blocker. He does have good hands and a decent route runner.

He can and will be a serviceable TE in the NFL.

When I saw Ferg dump Sam Williams in practice it raised an eyebrow. When Ferg ran a vertical route up the seam and snagged that pass I was ok...this dude is gonna be better than Shultz. Great? I'm not ready to go there yet, but as a TE1 Dallas a solid player. Once Schoon gets up to speed the 12 personnel group should effective especially running on the edges with TP n 42.

I wouldn't say Ferguson was held back but he looks noticeably more comfortable and is playing faster from what I saw yesterday.

Wo! I'm liking the sound of that.
