Few Pickens nuggets

Either they are cheap or Jerry is broke lol.

It is that simple.
Think about it, It's not always easy to come up with 100M dollars to just set aside. I just think the Jones boys are running this more like a business than trying to win a championship.

His agent is the reason he missed OTAs. Like most agents of players who are tagged, he advised Pickens to miss, according to Pickens.
So he can't think for himself?

Great.

Don't think it implies that. Agents are paid to advise these players like a lawyer (which many of them are). Generally, they are going to listen to their advice when it comes to money matters. I'm sure practicing in non-mandatory practices when you're going to be on a one-year contract falls under risk assessment and the agents believe it is too big of a risk.

Considering that you see this thing happen over and over with tagged players, I think laying this off as Pickens not thinking for himself is either looking for the negative or has to be an attempt at humor.

Pickens has used up his leeway. He's got to change his narrative, which has followed him since college.

This isn't like other player situations.

He is getting $27 million
top Federal Tax Bracket is 37% so that is $10 million
No income tax in Texas so he has $17 million
so IF he were to get a 5% return (which is a very low return but lets just use it)
that is $850,000 a year or over $70,000 a MONTH
If you cannot be comfortable on that you are sick
37% is on only the top bracket income, not the full thing. Secondly, he’s not getting it in a lump sum so it doesn’t earn interest all year.

I get your point, but the math is all wrong

Pickens has done nothing wrong this offseason. He's done what other players would have in his situation, which is what the league expects of him.

Now, he does have things to prove. It's noted that he's been late to meetings. That needs to change. He's gotten some senseless penalties. That needs to change. Pittsburgh got rid of him because of such things.

But skipping OTAs when he's been franchise-tagged means nothing more than that's how this business operates. Anyone looking for it to mean more than that is looking too hard.

That's way too much of an exaggeration come on man dude can play football he will have a job for the next 5 plus years how much and how much guarantees and will it be on a full long term deal that's different but he doesn't have to prove to anybody he can play ball He's already was good before he got to the Cowboys now he's great it's not about football it's about his reputation We get it mentally you said it but you're exaggerating he's not desperate to save his football career.

If the Cowboys had their way they sign them on the tag next year for around 32 whatever the tag's going to go up he will have a job for a lot of money That would be two years around 60 million, that's 30 million per year, his "football life" is not in jeopardy.

Very simple get that guaranteed long term deal where you're not having to go through this every offseason he just has to show that he can maintain his comp and be a team guy not the reputation he had from Pittsburgh He's just trying to get rid of that reputation that's it that that has nothing to do with his fall life..

He will have the money he will have the job, but will he get the long-term bill he's looking for that's the only question mark Here...

It's pretty simple look tapping with Brandon Ayuk and San Francisco all that drama to get his deal he finally got it and he gets injured he doesn't want to work to get back to where he should be ,but now it's becoming that is the Parsons drama but the problem is he already got the big deal and now they're trying to get rid of him..

The Cowboys and any other team don't want to end up in that spot it's not the first time and it won't be the last time so they're doing their due diligence..
I stand by what I said. I think he has the physical part down but the mental part is in question but that's jmho. Football life was not saying that his career was over, but it might be with the Cowboys. Didn't really mean to hit a nerve. Next time I will use lighter lingo.

And I stand by what I said this will be a shorter answer he just needs to prove he's matured that's not really the mental part mental part of football is known what plays you're supposed to run Had to listen to audibles Had to have non vocal communication with your quarterback,

That shows with your production, and he produced plenty he understood the playbook That's the mental part and don't say everyone does because last I checked they were questioning a guy like Johnny Manziel didn't know how to read a playbook Everything was Santa Lot football to him similar things were being thrown around with Murray in AZ didnt or couldn't study etc etc

I don't think George has that problem I think that it's different and he's not fighting for his football life the dude's already A millionaire he's gonna be another 27.5 million richer this year they may even tag him again next year but he will get signed for between 30 and 40 million by another team regardless of what happens this year unless he completely has a Antonio Brown mixed with Terrell Owens moments you know where he just completely loses it during the year has Antonio Bryant you remember him throwing a jersey at Parcells that's having some maturity problems That's what they're wanting to see before they hand them a lot of guaranteed money other than that he's got it all..

"I actually didn't know much about him. ... He is very rarely in a bad mood. He is happy. He loves football. He's always smiling and laughing."

"I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, GP is a good dude.
Get him 1 on 1 and he’s very introspective, kind ,clean and smart."

I'm still confused why Mike Tomlin and the Steelers FO didn't see the sweet, stoic, kind and compassionate side of Curious George?
