The Cowboys have done a good job rebuilding the losses they've experienced during last season and the offseason.

With the signing of Johnathan Hankins, all immediate holes are filled, with the exception of TE & Place Kicker.

LS - Trent Sieg
PK - not filled

CB - Stephon Gilmore
S - re-signed Donovan Wilson
LB - re-signed Leighton Vander Esch
Edge - re-signed Dante Fowler, Jr.
DT - re-signed Johnathan Hankins

QB - re-signed Cooper Rush
RB - Ronald Jones, Franchise Tag Tony Pollard
OT - 2nd round tender offer to RFA Terrance Williams
OG - Chuma Edoga
TE - Fill from within (Ferguson & Hendershot)
WR - Brandin Cooks

I am of the opinion that we do not need to draft a TE this year. Let's see how our current guys do. If we want to draft a round 6 or 7 TE and bring in an undrafted TE or 2, I would be fine with that. Just draft BPA in the first and then round out the draft with OL, DT, CB, WR, LB, RB and hope to find a couple of diamonds in the rough.

There is a major difference between filling holes and upgrading. I see two upgrades, Gilmore and Cooks, on that list.

Could surely use a guard, this guard can beat out the guy we just signed

They will draft a tight end and a running back because the draft is so deep that you need to take advantage and draft the talent that is there.

The NT position is OK now, the UT position is not. Desperately need an upgrade there, a true disruptor.

Gotta say the front office has done a great job thus far this off season. Another solid draft and I think we’ll be in good shape.

Guard hasnt been filled. DT is still a big problem. Other than Cooks were bringing back the same team so far. Gilmore a slight upgrade.

That team wasnt good enough last year.

Pretty much status quo with those two players being that slight upgrade. Players they lost were expected, but they filled those with other FA’s as well.
A 12-5 team for two years in a row and going further in the playoffs sometimes may only need that slight upgrade.
And with a very good draft that can become more than a slight upgrade.

Also with a change on the offense, with routes and schemes and play calling. New OL & RB coaches can make a difference. I am ready to see any improvements on offense from this. The defense pretty much in tact as well, players with a 3rd year under Quinn. Should be even better.

Dak”s INT’s may have been an anomaly based on his history. And other factors involved. We shall see. That should improve. Especially with a WR with speed and can stretch the field and can catch. Therefore opening up other WR as well.
They still need RB, DT, LB, OL, but the draft can provide those.

Those slight upgrades may turn out to be a difference. I am not predicting a SB but I can’t see not making the playoffs either, as to winning the division as well. As I still think the Eagles drop off. SF is the team to beat still though they too have lost more than they gained the last I seen.

Ferguson if given the opportunity will answer the call imo

We have 3 so it’s not a must draft position
But if a TE there and he’s around the best player I wouldn’t pass on him. I do like Hendershot and Ferguson but McKeon to me is not a guy gonna get much better at this point so if I improve the 3rd guy you have options

If Ferguson gets hurt the drop off is huge.

I dont agree ben reading a lot of media and they think Hendershot could be better or similar to Jarwin or better , maybe the bigger play type TE.. Furgeson is Schultz like maybe bit more upside but Hendershot could end up being that stretch the field type TE.. he could end up more explosive. better to let both grow vs draft TE..if its total fail; I'm sure there's vet TE on the street/or someone's Practice squad we could add anytime.
