I am of the opinion that we do not need to draft a TE this year. Let's see how our current guys do. If we want to draft a round 6 or 7 TE and bring in an undrafted TE or 2, I would be fine with that. Just draft BPA in the first and then round out the draft with OL, DT, CB, WR, LB, RB and hope to find a couple of diamonds in the rough.
You are right but this is one of the deepest and most talented TE classes in quite some time. I like Ferguson and Hendershot, but if a tight end is the best player left on the board I wouldn't mind if Dallas drafts one early. Having a player at the position like Travis Kelce or George Kittle would take this offense up several levels.

We have zero depth at linebacker.

Yea, def need other “needs” earlier in the draft other than TE. Ferguson looked pretty good for when he was in there, probly will improve.

This would be the only way I would want a TE….someone who has Kelce or Kittle potential…at least in first or second rounds.

All I see if a massive hole at guard. That’s all I see. Maybe if a killer OT lands in your lap you send Tyler inside but OG is the true hole on this team

There are no Kittles or Kelces in this draft. More Like Noah Fants, Jimmy Grahams, and Todd Heaps.

Pretty much status quo with those two players being that slight upgrade. Players they lost were expected, but they filled those with other FA’s as well.
A 12-5 team for two years in a row and going further in the playoffs sometimes may only need that slight upgrade.
And with a very good draft that can become more than a slight upgrade.

Also with a change on the offense, with routes and schemes and play calling. New OL & RB coaches can make a difference. I am ready to see any improvements on offense from this. The defense pretty much in tact as well, players with a 3rd year under Quinn. Should be even better.

Dak”s INT’s may have been an anomaly based on his history. And other factors involved. We shall see. That should improve. Especially with a WR with speed and can stretch the field and can catch. Therefore opening up other WR as well.
They still need RB, DT, LB, OL, but the draft can provide those.

Those slight upgrades may turn out to be a difference. I am not predicting a SB but I can’t see not making the playoffs either, as to winning the division as well. As I still think the Eagles drop off. SF is the team to beat still though they too have lost more than they gained the last I seen.
Great post and I agree. Cooks and Gilmore are massive upgrades.

Last season we opened at receiver with CeeDee Lamb, Noah Brown and Dennis Houston. Compared to Lamb, Gallup and Cooks.

Same situation as last year, we went through Anthony Brown, Wright, Mullen, Alexander etc at corner.

Cooks brings a vertical threat, played with multiple winning QBs and tons of playoff winning experience.

Gilmore brings a Super bowl ring, NFL defensive player of the year and tons of experience.

I wouldn’t say zero depth.

They run with two linebackers, three safeties. Kearse and Wilson are essentially extra linebackers.

Parsons and LVE start. Clark and Cox are depth. Harper will focus on special teams and we likely draft another player.

I'm hoping a promising LG will be a high priority in the upcoming draft. I'll be pretty disappointed if that's not attended to.

Ferguson had 19 catches and Hendershot had 11. Tight end should be a priority in this draft.

- That's their nickel base lineup with the multiple safeties, ..if i'm a power running team, i'm for trying to run over those safeties.
i think we can only get away with the safety look to a certain extent, but it'll be to the point where we need capable LBs rather than rely on safeties.
Another reason why i really covered Bobby Wagner here.

- Parsons is being lined and used more as a edge DE, than off ball LB. To which i think it will be a mistake long term and what could
very well be near future damage, as Quinn keeps him engaged with 340 lb. OTs on too much of a down to down- series to series and game to game basis.

- We're gonna eventually pound him into a mere shell of himself, I fear.
His best role probably should be similar to Von Miller or Philly's Hasson Riddick, imo.

Quinn would argue that you know nothing about his depth at LB, he dismisses the LB relevance.

The Cowboys have done a good job rebuilding the losses they've experienced during last season and the offseason.

With the signing of Johnathan Hankins, all immediate holes are filled, with the exception of TE & Place Kicker.

LS - Trent Sieg
PK - not filled

CB - Stephon Gilmore - slight improvement. short term solution. need to look for replacement already.
S - re-signed Donovan Wilson
LB - re-signed Leighton Vander Esch
Edge - re-signed Dante Fowler, Jr.
DT - re-signed Johnathan Hankins

QB - re-signed Cooper Rush
RB - Ronald Jones, Franchise Tag Tony Pollard
OT - 2nd round tender offer to RFA Terrance Williams
OG - Chuma Edoga
TE - Fill from within (Ferguson & Hendershot)
WR - Brandin Cooks
CB - Stephon Gilmore - slight improvement. short term solution. need to look for replacement already.
S - re-signed Donovan Wilson - stayed the same no improvement.
LB - re-signed Leighton Vander Esch - stayed the same, needed improvement
Edge - re-signed Dante Fowler, Jr. - stayed the same, needed improvement
DT - re-signed Johnathan Hankins - stayed the same , needed improvement.

QB - re-signed Cooper Rush - stayed the same, needed improvement
RB - Ronald Jones, Franchise Tag Tony Pollard - hmmm, interesting. less depth perhaps. and Tony was injured.
OT - 2nd round tender offer to RFA Terrance Williams
OG - Chuma Edoga
TE - Fill from within (Ferguson & Hendershot) - slightly worse as both showed potential, but not proven.
WR - Brandin Cooks - slight improvement.
