Years with at least 12 total TDs:

Bettis: 0

Lynch: 4

Years with at least 4.0 YPC:

Bettis: 4

Lynch: 7

Bettis played 13 years. Lynch has played 9.

Talk about off on a tangent. This is supposed to be a discussion about our new running back and can this be greener grass then where he left. It's now all about a TE who has been gone from our team for years who no one should give a flip about. This is like talking about a girl you dated years ago and now you are dating someone else and shouldn't care about the old flame.
Did you actually read the article?

The entire thing is about Bennett.

We used him as a blocker.

Did Fasano, Phillips, and now Escobar not apply themselves either?

Maybe, just maybe, the Cowboys coaches are not good at using multiple TE's.

He was a body catcher and had hands of stone his first couple of years. There were several drops in the red zone and third down but he executed his blocks well. He was better inline than Witten taking on DE and a solid pass pro.

Now in his defense his coach was awful but Garrett's brother has been gone a long time.

Now this is funny and ironic.
That was just the intro buddy. There's a second page that I personally would rather us be discussing than some guy who left years ago.

What other things are you talking about?

I think Martellus has proven that it was someone else's fault that he wasn't more productive.

That someone else is Jason Witten. He is a HOF calibre TE is still going strong 3-4 years after Marty left.

I don't think ANYBODY is to blame here.

Nothing loaded on page 2. Maybe it's just my comp...I've had trouble with your pages before so maybe it's on my end.

Either way...woops lol

Let me check on that for you. Thank you for letting me know.

Before I scroll down I'm predicting Zoners aren't going to like the compliments about Bennett..

Guy is an awesome TE and just proves that Dallas needs to cut out the drafting of backup TEs in the early rounds.

Jerry wanted Bennett to stay and Bennett made a wise decision to move on.

1st Bold Phrase: highly questionable.

2nd Bold Phrase: pure, unadulterated conjecture. Unless your name is Stephen Jones, you have no way of knowing that.

I'm almost certain it's on my end, I don't think there's much to check. Sometimes the page opens, sometimes it doesn't.

It probably has something to do with the firewall on my connection, b/c it only happens on my work comp. Generally, if it doesn't load the first or second time, it will the third. I just didn't reload it this time lol

Out of "all" these rbs available, christine came cheap and has potential. Idk who else you wanted but out of the 3 that was mentioned; Michael, Ball, and West I like what cmike offers the most.

Any rb on a teamsroster was potential trade bait. Also we could have bought in a number of reliable rb off the street to get this position filled. Christine was not cheap we gave up a roster spot and a draft pick for a guy with only 52 carriers in his 2 year career. Just because Seattle drafted him high doesn't mean the guy was any good. I don't see anything in his college or pro history that make me think this guy is something special.

What the heck. I'll bite a little bit on the Bennett comparison. Here's a quote from him I hadn't heard before:

Pretty funny. When the Bears came back to Dallas last time, Bennett had some pretty nice things to say about the organization and about Jason. I think he was just a different dude, and the position he wanted in Dallas was already taken, so he had to go someplace else. It happens.

As far as the OP is concerned and the comparison to Michael goes, I hope it's accurate. I can see how it could be an issue for a guy like Michael to play behind a guy like Lynch. I'd feel better if Michael had been able to pass Turbin, but maybe it's a case where he comes here and does everything right and earns the snaps. He's definitely got a world of potential. There are a lot of young players who never manage to get their heads right, though. If it's going to happen anywhere, we've got as good an environment as anybody for straightening him out.

Well, just when I thought this was going nowhere, I was rewarded with today's "you'll never experience that again moment"

Witten = gazelle. 2 things that will never appear together again in an analogy

The conclusions in the article linked in the OP are that CM is better at making the secondary miss than Murray was and that he is a good inside zone system runner. I grant the first. I haven't seen enough of the second. Do others who watched him in Seattle and college agree?

Stupid comment by a poster. You ***ume you know what was told to Bennett, but you really don't, yet you run with your ASSumption. With your ASSumption you throw Bennett under the bus, while he is earning and being recognized as the Bear's MVP. It is easy to ***ume and be wrong. Am I wrong about you (based on your unfounded ASSumption)? Or are you the kind of poster I assume you to be?

That is a hilarius response to me saying a comment is stupid. Are you related to Bennett? I remember training camp with Bennett and the coaches had to continually tell the guy to tuck the ball away and he would pretty much ignore them. He was so immature in Dallas. He had a ton of talent and finally figured out it takes work to succeed in the NFL I guess, because he sure did not know that when he was here.

Not gonna say you're wrong about NFL production. However, 7th rounders are just that. Now we'll wait for the potential and re chat about this when we get to see what he has. But next year come draft day and we don't have that 7th to trade for a guy we can't miss, I'm sure you know who to blame. Mr. Christine.

We haven't given up anything for him yet. It's a conditional pick, if he suits up for 3 games it becomes a 7th. So we got a free look, and the coaches will have ample opportunity to decide if they feel he's worth the 7th rounder before we have to give up anything other than a spot on the 53.
