I would say free is the guy you draft a replacement for. Until you have a better cheaper option you understand you are getting an average tackle at an average veteran salary.

He isn't all world but he is only getting beat up on around here every week because people need easy targets to blame. If his play was elevated to T Smith level this season we would still be 3-8. He is a so what player. Not this gaping hole that we need to fill.

Free has been terrible since he signed that 4/32m contract.

His cap hit has been higher than TSmith every year.

There is no way to sugar coat it and his pay and play is not insignificant.

We had the chance to get rid of him this and instead we doubled down and chose him over a younger and healthier Parnell.

ps- Carr had been just as bad since he signed his 5/50m deal. If those 2 lived up to their deals or we used their money on other players we would have had more success the last 5 years.

Haha....Parnell again huh?
Wasn't there some stats out on him showing he was awful at pass protection? I don't remember exactly but I believe at that point he had given up a considerable amount more pressures than free.

Regardless of how Free performs Parnell wasn't the answer.

Free is replaceable. Parnell would be a weakness we would be stuck with for a while.

Up until the Tampa game, yes. He was struggling int that with Evans before he got hurt.

Mo's inability to play zone defense is the reason we stick to man coverage and get picked by receivers so often. Mo has struggled to pick up zone coverage since we drafted him. You may hate Carr for whatever reason but the fact is he has been solid the whole year. He may not be the franchise CB people want but he has certainly outplayed Mo every year including this one.

I don't really understand the fixation on Free when we have much bigger problems than him being the worst player on a very good line. Eventually, we need to find his replacement and have to hope Green can develop into that player, but this focus on Free just seems to be nitpicking an average player.

Always has been but nitpicking hasn't always been the word. He's above average but he is inconsistent. He's strong but he doesn't always play like it esp his hands. I'd like to see his pressures given up vs Smith's this year.

I don't hate Carr. I don't play that game. I just call it like I see it. I think Carr has played much better this season than he did for the first part of last year, and I wasn't for just cutting him last offseason. However, Claiborne has been our best corner manning up on some very good receivers, and I'm a bit surprised to be saying that this year. Saying it isn't a knock on Carr, either, just a recognition that Claiborne strongly stepped up his play.

Please name a bigger problem....because people who break down tape will agree w/ me Free is the biggest problem by far. Only our TEs come close to blocking as bad.....

The biggest problem on a very good line? Yes.

The biggest problem for this team? How about an overall lack of pressure on the passer or a lack of turnovers? Only six teams have fewer sacks than Dallas while 17 have given up more sacks. I believe Dallas is last in the league in takeaways.

Free is a serviceable player who the offense showed last year is good enough to win with, much like Ron Leary, frankly. He is far down the list of players who need to be upgraded on this team.

No, Free just stinks and has the highest cap hit of all our OL.
