what kinda number is 47 for a wide receiver?

It is a college number because by NFL rules dictate that certain position can only wear certain numbers. College there are no standards regarding numbers and in some cases I have seen guys on the same team wearing the same number during the game.

Irvin had 47 games as a pro where he had 100+ receiving yards.

As a college student, he knew that he would set that mark and thus chose that as his number.

I'd rather see the Skins win their games and have a chance to make the playoffs only to have their dreams crushed by the Cowboys. :D
and not picking in the top ten!

Thanks for the clarification. When I read that the first thought was, "When the hell did the Skins go 15-1?" Only NFC team I can remember doing that are the Vikings and Niners.

I don't remember the SuperBowl year but when the Steelers and Seahawks were in the bowl wasn't the Steelers record 15-1?

I don't know their record off-hand but I know they were not 15-1 because they were a Wild Card Team that year I believe.

If we sit a lot of people and lose the game, I'm dippin' into my asterisk basket.

11-5, Wildcard team. Cincy won that division.

I would love for us to have homefield advantage all sewn up when we go to Washington. No way Washington wins out, I don't think, so their season should be over when we go there.

So, I'd like for us to play and have the game won and the Commanders just a few min. away from ending their season... and then as time is running out, have the whole defense step aside and let Portis run to the endzone to win the game.

That way, everyone would know we handed them the game and that we could have won... BUT, they would get a worse draft pick because we gave them a meaningless game.

Adding insult to injury. :)

It was the 2004 season and they went 15-1 and lost to the Patriots in the AFC Championship

the Steelers were 15-1 in 2004, they lost (badly) in the AFC Championship to New England

the next season they went 11-5 and got in as a WC, won the super bowl vs Seattle

as fyi...the Steelers beat New England fairly easily during the regular season that yr (2004)..after they lost to the Pats at home (blown out in AFC Championship) they later complained that "it was like they what plays we were going to run or something" according to several players....imagine that
