seriously? Viggo Mortenson was fascinating. I enjoyed that movie thoroughly.

idk why you thought he was so fascinating, his character had no depth, the end was just ********

Wait, what? What was so gay about it? It's my favorite film of all time. I'm talking about Leon though not the crap American version they edited and called The Professional.

This was one of the better movies of last year -- should have been one of the Best Picture Nominees

Recent stuff I liked

In Bruges
King of Kong
Eastern Promises
History of Violence
This is England
Half Nelson
King of Kong was hilarious. I'm definately going to buy that one. Eastern Promises was also great. Don't let anyone say otherwise.

The Last Samurai was awful as was Mallrats. Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Goodfellas are all classics.

Fight Club - I can't stress enough the greatness that is this movie. See it multiple times. The first time you're going to be thinking "Jeez. That was weird." It takes repeated viewings to achieve the full effect though. So many great moments.

Memento - It was mentioned before, but it needs another mention. A movie made backwards. When you see it, you'll know what I mean. It's very good.

Bubba Ho-tep - Bruce Campbell as Elvis in a retirement home who is fighting a mummy who threatens to suck everyone's soul out through their arseholes? His sidekick is a black guy who claims to be JFK? It's as awesome as it sounds.

Goodfellas - I liked this crime drama better than the Godfather. Maybe I'm weird, but I doubt I'm alone.

The Big Lebowski - That rug really tied the room together.

Never saw Bubba Ho Tep (though after reading that description, I'm going to have to), but this is a great little list and I agree about GoodFellas vs, the Godfather. Francis has a problem with directing actors and despite it's infamy, that movie is wrought with bad acting from some of the actors.

Scorcese does much better with directing actors.

Don't waste your time on Bubba Ho Tep. It is one of the worst if not the worst movies I have ever seen.

Exactly! I'm a big fan of Bruce Campbell's but that movie is just terrible.

Wow. I really liked and you think it was the worst movie you've ever seen. Weird.

Actually, I really enjoyed that. If you can get past the weird stylistic stuff it is actually pretty deep.

Donnie Brasco

Just an FYI... what we think happened to Pacino's character at the end was changed for the movie.

Its actually the opposite.

Trying to post that without spoiliing.

I didn't think it was great but I kind of liked it as well. Guess I am just an Ash/bruce campbell fan.

if you want to see a disturbing movie made backwards try Irreversible with Monica Bellucci, an old movie you might have missed is Deliverance with Burt Reynolds, in the foreign film area you might want to try Left Luggage, Karakter http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119448/, Antonias Line. For comedy try movies by Louis de Funes, Peter Sellers and Monty Python.
You probably know a couple of Alan Parker movies, try the commitments and Birdy if you missed them. Action movies worth their salt you've probably seen all having watched 4600, but maybe you missed a couple chinese ones like Hero and house of flying daggers. If any of these work out for you pm me and I'll see what else comes to mind.
