Fins, Chiefs, Vikings want Pennington - **UPDATE** Pennington Released...

Does Pennington have the right to choose, or does he have to go to the worst team that wants him?
He's a Free Agent. Only in fantasy football to worst teams get first crack.

I can see how some would get confused. He's only been healthy one year so maybe he should qualify for waivers, lol.

Expectations would be less at Miami. Parcells' clubs get significantly better after a couple years and Sporano should get more credit than he did in Dallas. Childress is an idiot and makes questionable at best calls. ;)

Yes, the expectations would be less in Miami...because they suck. I've never thought Pennington to be a guy that would shy away from expectations and more importantly, a real shot at making the playoffs. And again, Parcell's South Beach Cowboys might get better after a couple of years, but Fragile Chad would be broken by then.

Don't know about Childress, Andy Reid guy, highly regarded coming into that job. How hard can it be? First down, handoff to Adrian Peterson, second down, hand off to Adrian Peterson, third down, throw a little two-yard dink pass to move the chains. :laugh2:

That's true with Pennington, but don't players with under three years experience have to clear waivers with the worst teams getting the first chance at claiming them?

You would think, but he didn't. He was criticized multiple times throughout the season for not playing AP enough. Against us he had 4 carries for 24 yards and a TD in the first series alone, yet finished with only 8 more carries in the game, a game we were handing over to them and though they lead at halftime failed to get AP carries.

My money is on Minnesota. He has a good chance to start, has a good offensive line in front of him (which he would NOT have in Miami), and gives him a real shot to play for something worthwhile, namely, a playoff spot.

Miami's got nice weather and all and he is a Parcells guy, who knows? It's just that he'll never survive down there long enough to sniff the playoffs again in his career.

But wasn't Jackson a first round pick? The next Culpepper? What happened there?

Yes, Beck would have to clear waivers before he becomes a free agent. In claiming him off of the waiver wire you need to be aware of his contract and what he has coming under it. That could prompt all teams to pass on him regarding waivers and then he could be a free agent able to sign with any team. At least, that's my understanding.

Agreed, that was stupid. A man can learn from his mistakes though -- he probably doesn't want to waste AP until he has a QB there. Yeah I know, that's stretching it.

But facts are facts, Minny has all the tools to go to the playoffs this year -- if I were a QB with a competitive bone in my body, I would choose that over the black hole called the Miami Dolphins. I think...South Beach has some incredibly beautiful woman with incredibly small bikinis from what I've heard. :laugh2:

I'm rooting for Parcells to get him. I don't care who they get rid of, Beck or McCown, I'd take either over Simms as the 3rd QB and eventual replacement for Brad.

isn't Beck almost as old as Brad? lol

but seriously, he's pretty old for a 2nd year player, isn't he like 27?

You know who I'd like to see us get as a developmental QB? Caleb Hanie; the 3rd string (for now) QB of the Chicago Bears. If they get caught in a numbers game and try to put him on their practice squad I'd like to see us pull a Matt Moore on them and grab him.

He's an UDFA rookie, born in Dallas and played at Colorado St. (I think). His completion percentage in his last two years was over 60%.

27 and played in a shot gun based run-n-shoot/spread offense in college. Not really a good track record for those guys when they are drafted early ... Andre Ware, David Klinger, Tim Couch, Alex Smith. The only one that's really worked out is Drew Brees, and he struggled mightily his first few years.

I hope Bill Belichick gets amnesia and releases Kevin O'Connell, the rookie out of San Diego State, he's a big QB who can move, big arm

raw as hell though
