Fire GM Jerry Jones: An Open Appeal to the Owner

yeah well we're gonna have to keep waiting a while unless he can get a real coach who isn't 80 years old that can overcome the jerryness.

Wade is only 80?? I thought he was around 90. But what the heck, Jerry looks like he is at least 100 years old.

I'm not a sheep. So the answer is no.

You can do what you want. I don't have to agree with it, and I don't.

You're more like a reclusive WWII Japanese soldier who doesn't realize that the war is over. Keep fighting the bad fight.

I'm not following Jerry. That is a strawman tactic. I disagree with him when I think he is wrong.

You are free to disagree with me. I respect people who do and can debate it intelligently. I don't want everyone to agree with me. I never have on any subject.

I would not call Hos a sheep, he is pretty smart. I think he is just waiting things out a bit longer. Another season of Captain Cream Puff as head coach and by 2010 Hos will see what we already see. We see him as a stubborn(but very loyal) old man, while he sees us as a bunch of know it all kids who don't know anything yet(but we are just as loyal as he is). Give Hostile time, unfortunately it will take one more season of King Jerra and Captain Cream Puff making the Cowboys a big tease again in 2009 for him to say he has had nuff as well.

More like someone who doesn't have a pie in the sky view of the job of a football GM.

But you see it however you like.

Thank you. I appreciate that a lot.

It isn't about Wade though. I want to make that clear. Jerry could make my day by hiring Garrett or Shanahan as the HC and sending Wade packing. I like Wade, but he was never my choice here. Garrett was. I just respect the hell out of Mike Shanahan and if Jerry doesn't bring him in I will call it a mistake.

LOL How much longer are we supposed to wait?

C'mon. The time is now, or the time will never occur.

We have to try to make a difference now.

Actually, if you want an honest appraisal of Jerry, don't ask me and don't ask yourself. After all, we're biased. Ask the people who write about the NFL for a living or the owners of other NFL teams who might be in the market for a new GM.

That is curious; why would you want Garrett as HC? What has he shown that you would choose him as such?

I would love to have Shanahan as coach. I can not understand why Jerry is not jumping at the chance to make Shanahan coach. I am not afraid to admit, most of what I know about Shanahan is from other die hard NFL fans and from what I have read. From all of this knowledge given to me, this Shanahan sounds like such a perfect coach for the Cowboys. Tony Romo is the leader of this team, and Shanahan would be great for him.

Garrett, I am one of the few where I think he could be a good head coach. People can laugh at me all they want about that but I just think if he was given full control of being able to name his staff and have a lot of control period he would be a good coach. I have seen all kinds of hate on Garrett threads but Garrett can't get out there and make the players make the plays. He can only call the plays, after that the rest is on the players. One of my last concerns is Jason Garrett.

I don't mind asking you. Your opinion doesn't offend me and you can usually say something that will make me laugh.

Ask Randy Galloway and JFE what they think.

I've wanted him to be our Head Coach one day since he was our 3rd string QB. I think the guy has an incredible future ahead of him. He is smart. Players respect him. He's everything I want in a Coach. Right now, I want guys who are getting their first shot.

This thread has some other info that I was looking at.

Actually, I'd omit them from the survey because, like the rest of us, they're biased. They certainly reflect my biases, but fairness dictates that we skip them.

Not much I can do from Tampa, brethren.

I'll just vent at the other diehard fan I know in the mirror.

You know what, this post made me figure out where you are coming from and why you would want Garrett as HC. Oh yeah, I have heard all kindsa things about how smart Garrett is. But lets be real, Wade is never gonna be a Super Bowl coach, and Shanahan has already been there so he may not have the same fire as a Garrett who wants to prove himself and get some Super Bowls. So Garrett would be the best choice since he would be the hungriest of them all. Maybe I am not exactly right in why you would like Garrett as HC, but I think I am somewhere close to being right. But hey, I also think Garrett could be a good coach.

Galloway is not a Cowboys fan.

He is not biased and he has posted at least one article calling for the same thing I am.

I'm talking about a "Jerry as GM" survey. Randy would certainly crush Jerry on that one.

Actually you are dead on. The young coaches like Harbaugh, Mike Smith, Sparano, et al turned bad teams around this year. Give me Garrett and a strong DC and I will take it.

I admit very real interest in Shanahan though. It would be his 3rd team and no coach has ever won it with 2 teams, but I seriously respect the guy.
