First Four Rounds Based on Needs...

we do not need. running back, tackle or wide receiver. I would add ILB if I knew for sure how Carter was going to turn out. all other positions are fair game.

would also add QB, TE, NT to that list

If we can add a Center, OLB or DE that really rushes the passer, CB that can play right away then frankly the only other thing we need is a real FB. Drafted or otherwise.

With Nagy and Arkin on the roster, I can't see a guard being drafted in the first four rounds.

With Nagy and Arkin , I don't see how a guard can not be drafted in the first 4 rounds.

As regards the other areas, frankly I would look at seeing how much it would cost to keep Sensi and Elam; and also look at the FA market for a top blocking FB. We really screwed up by not getting Hysocki. If there are none in FA then look at using a draft pick on the best blocking FB available. I would also look at getting another guard say rd 3 or 4. Best Center in rd 2 or 3.

I don't think Hynoski fits what Garrett wants in this offense. He wants a guy around 245-255 pounds who can block at the point of attack and be a release valve receiver. Think 2011 version of Moose Johnston or "Bar none" Floyd from the 49ers. The player doesn't necessarily have to be as good a receiver as those guys were but they should be able to catch and run somewhere around 4.6-4.7 in the 40.

Whether we would be better off with a devastating, giant blocker at FB is a separate issue but it doesn't look like Garrett is looking for that kind of a player.

If David DeCastro is available at our pick in round 1, you take him and worry about what to do with Nagy and Arkin later.

If he's not there, then I think we look at the best center or corner available in the first round.

Exactly.

Arkin and Nagy shouldn't preclude you from taking the best OG in the draft and a likely day one starter.

You may be right but that doesn't explain the drafting of Shaun Chapas. Chapas is a Chris Gronkowski clone.

Absolutely not. If you get a day one starter at either G spot or C in this draft, you draft them.

And then in this draft, if it's round 2 and there's another day 1 starter at C/G, draft him too.

Loving the Bruce Carter pick but wish we could've gotten Stefan Wisniewski.

What the Front Office decides to do with Anthony Spencer and Terrence Newman will dictate our biggest off-season needs.

As is, I would say our four biggest needs are:
1. Center
2. Guard
3. A Free Safety with 4.4 or better speed. No more step-slow safeties.
4. A Return Man, ideally a 4th WR slot type.

CB may be a need even if we keep Newman. Alan Ball and Frank Walker are Free Agents.

Ideal off-season would be adding Ben Grubbs in Free Agency and then Peter Konz, Markelle Martin, and Joe Adams in the draft.

I also (really) like DeCastro but there doesn't appear to be any quality Centers in Free Agency. Maybe we add two Guards and move Kosier to Center?

and Fiammetta was catching passes? NO. I hope Red Ball has learned his lessen and makes sure our next FB is FIRST a blocker.

Another ILB was a definite need for this defense.

I really hope Ryan can get him on the field before the end of the season. If he can't get Carter out there he has to have Church in there as the nickel LB in the 4-2-5 defense because James/Brooking just get killed in coverage. Anytime they are out there they have a big bullseye on their chest.

3rd/4th CB is a need. I don't see Ball and Walker staying.
