Does 17-0 ring a bell? The offense may have struggled, but our D killed them last year. The first game was 7-6, so we held them to 6 points in two games. As far as McNabb, please. We laid a trifecta on his *** with a better team last season. The Skins cannot beat the Cowboys without help from the refs and mistakes by the Cowboys.

our defense needs to be sharp as it can be the first two weeks.

We will have to deal with shannahan and mike martz calling plays against us with capable quarterbacks.

Martz had a ton of success against our defense. our defense is much better now, but he is very aggressive and that can cause problems if your not on your game. The bears game is a noon game and the team seems flat along with the crowd alot at that time. Hopefully with it being the home opener we will be ready to go.

Our defense will be tested those first two weeks though.

the Commanders will have 90,000 people in their going nuts. By the time week 1 comes I am sure there bandwagon fans will be back to saying they are the superbowl team, it will only take a couple of touchdown drives in the preseason and they will be declaring crap.

We will hammer the Foreskins opening nite in DC. Don't be fooled by all the positive media they're getting, they still have nothing even with all the hype. The game is played on the field not in the media and they can't compete with us. Offensively they have a ROOKIE LT trying to block DWare and he only played LT in college for 1yr. Thats a total mismatch. They still have no RT and probably will start Heyer, he's a fat doughtboy who's slow and soft. Spencer will eat him up. Their center Rabach gets manhandled by Ratliff every game and I don't even know who their RG is. At reciever they have absolutely nothing. It's so bad they had to bring in 60yr old Joey Galloway. Their best WR is a midget in Moss and he was in the top 3 in drops last year. All the hype over McFlabb, he's overrated, inaccurate, and chokes. Reid knew it, that's why he didn't mind trading him withih the Div. That speaks volumes. Reports from their mini camp last week had McFlabb erratic and inaccurate already.

Defensively they're switching to a 3-4 and don't have nearly enough LB's who can run and cover to play it. A-rag-pole can only rush the passer, he sucks in coverage and Fletcher is good but he's damn near 50yrs old and too small for the 3-4. Their CB's absolutely stink. Phillip Buchannon, enough said. DH is burnt toast and the league knows it. Rogers is average at best. None of them can play solid bump n run man coverage which is needed in a strong 3-4. Do I even need to mention Landry? He bites on every pump fake possible and he can't tackle. I think Jacobs ruined him when he steam rolled him like a rag doll. Upfront they have no dominant NT. Fat Albert could be it but he wants out and doesn't want to play NT in the 3-4. Don't believe all the hype gang, the Foreskins will SUCK again and finish DEAD LAST in the east as they always do...

I smiled while reading this post.

Yesterday I watched the 2nd Giants game, which we followed the Skins/Saints game where they had that utter and complete meltdown. Watching those game breaks had me in tears from laughter. The look on Zorns face was priceless the last few minutes of that game.

The Skins always seem to play us tough. I expect a game. It's foolish to underestimate your opponent.

Not just that but the pressure is all on us. Nobody is going to expect the Skins to make the transition that quickly, especially given their track record under Snyder (except a few dozen nutcases on Extreme Skins) and given our schedule, we really need to take that first game. I think we've got a very good team and I *expect* the Commanders to be pretty damn bad but we have been a bit schizophrenic under Wade and you do never know.

I'd love to have your confidence, but I think I'm going to wait a while. I agree the Skin's locker room looks like a geriatric ward, but the Cowboys in the past have taken a few teams lightly, and this could be a trap game.

lol that was great but i feel just a little different.

first off its the first game of the season and everybody will be working out kinks, but the skins will be learning both a new offense and new defense both of which are a completely different way of thinking than the skins current team has seen before. i don't expect the O or D to be able to do anything but be vanilla cause it will take awhile for everybody to get the whole playbook down, and they wont by week one.

the zone blocking doesn't even need that much talent so the mismatch on both spencer and ware are not as big a factor as you would think, my biggest worry is someone getting hurt because of it.

landry will be playing @ 240 this season basically being an enforcer, idt jacobs will ragdoll him this year lol.

we agree that their talent doesn't match ours and that they will lose but i think its because of different reasons, i don't think EVERYBODY on their roster is the worst at their position as you make them out to be.

Not only do the Skins usually play us tough no matter what, but they will have an edge because of the new staff. We won't have any idea what Shanny is going to run with those guys. Heck, even the pathetic Zorn went 6-2 in his first 8 games... until the rest of the league figured out what he was doing.

We still should win because Dallas is a much more talented team, but like theebs said, those fans will be going ape ****. Sunday night home game, first of the Shannahan era, first for McNabb, first for the Allen era, and you know they'll have some surprises up their sleeves.

It'll be tough, that's for sure. Not because they're going to be a good team though, but because of all the other stuff I mentioned. They'll still have a mediocre at best season, but as always, they'll sell their souls to beat Dallas.

Yeah I think you are right on this. It will be one of those games where the crowd is pumped up early and the Commanders may get out to an early lead and then once things settle down the better team(us) will take over.

The element of surprise obviously will be a factor. But Shanahan has been in the league long enough for our staff to at least be familiar with his scheme and tendencies. At the end of the day, we're the better team. It's a road division game, so it will be tough. But this is a game we should win.

I'm not too concerned.

If we play pretty well, we win.

If we don't play well, we'll probably lose.

I think Shanny is a great gameplanning coach, but his last few years without Kubiak were thoroughly unimpressive. Plus, I don't think going to the 3-4 is a good move for them, particularly with the Haynesworth contract. And when is the last time a Haslett defense as impressed anybody? 2000?

We need to focus on ourselves and see Romo build upon his improvement in 2009. We need to see Garrett continue to improve. We need to see the defense play like it did in December but with more turnovers We need to improve the field goal kicking.

We should come away with the W. Not an easy game because of the rivalry factor but the better team should win.

I'm not underestimating them or any other team. I just don't think they're any good. It's as simple as that..
