First Game @ Was

I don't care what anyone says or thinks about the level of talent when it gets to that night because the Cowboys/Skins games are always ones that bug me cause the Skins, even when they are complete trash, can find ways to beat Dallas because of the rivalry.

I think we'll beat them but I am not sure that I'm ready to believe, just yet, that we're going to walk all over them in DC that night.

Wasn't that 7-6 win in Dallas one of the sweetest wins, ever?

That was SEC style.

That was a classic.

I love it.

Anxiety over a game that's four months away. I love this place.

our defense needs to be sharp as it can be the first two weeks.

We will have to deal with shannahan and mike martz calling plays against us with capable quarterbacks.

Martz had a ton of success against our defense. our defense is much better now, but he is very aggressive and that can cause problems if your not on your game. The bears game is a noon game and the team seems flat along with the crowd alot at that time. Hopefully with it being the home opener we will be ready to go.

Our defense will be tested those first two weeks though.

the Commanders will have 90,000 people in their going nuts. By the time week 1 comes I am sure there bandwagon fans will be back to saying they are the superbowl team, it will only take a couple of touchdown drives in the preseason and they will be declaring crap.

The Bears blow.

We'll dominate their OL, they wont be able to run. Which....isn't that big of a deal, I guess, for Martz.

But their OL won't hold up long enough to buy Cutler time.

Will be a cakewalk.

Just talking to a friend about this last night. It's an advantage to open the season on the road. Everybody gets about 10 days for the opener. The travel element doesn't have the same impact it does the rest of the season.

Of course starting off 0-1 sucks, so opening with a winnable road game is key. Ideal scenario is a mediocre to weak opponent. Since it's opening day, the team will be juiced and unlikely to over look a weaker team.

We're going to win this game.

Two adjectives come to mind for almost all Cowboy-Commander games over the past 10 years: ugly and unpredictable.

I just want to win. 5-3 final score would work for me.

It is useless to try to convince me that the Commanders might be a 6-10 team. I'm not a believer in Commander playoff hopes, but that's hardly the point. The best team often loses in the history of this rivalry.

And shouldnt have to worry about the weather either vs a Dec game there.

From what I remember our games vs Was were too close, as for other team it was like taking stroll in the park. I dont want to lose our first game and now that they have McNabb and Shanahan..AHH I cant wait =D
New offense, new QB, new RB's, new rookie LT and the first real game with those all having to come together. The only downside is there won't be any game tape to watch, so Dallas will be flying blind.

I think the biggest difference will be Washington going to a 3-4. I think Orakpo will be like Greg Ellis out there at OLB. He ain't going to be covering Felix in the flat, that's for sure.

Seeing that the first game in Dallas was a 7-6 nailbiter, and by the game in December my 6'0 170 lbs body was starting at RG, I think it is unwise to understimate us.

I still expect a Cowboy win, you all are just so superior I can't imagine the Commanders being able to compete.

Shanahan>>>>>>>>>>>Zorn

McFlabb (until proven otherwise to me, he is McFlabb) >>>>>>>>>Campbell

Overall culture and team work of the 2010 Commanders>>>> 2009

If you try and take anything away from that game in December you are foolish. A team with nothing to play for, its loser coach clearly gone in 2 weeks, a new GM in place, and one of the worst (and I must add injured) o-lines in NFL history, facing a team with everything to play for and coming off one of the biggest December wins it had in years. I made some easy money that night betting on the Cowboys

Why? Are you and I playing in the game?

I see no relevance here.

Absolutley not. For the sake of discussion and this thread, I find it hilarious

The 2009 Commanders offense was one of the top 5 worst in the 80+ year history of the NFL.

Despite that awful offense, our D managed to hold your amazing offense to 24 points in 2 games.

So the under estimation in this thread gives me a good chuckle

Why should we ever be afraid of Washington?

"They always play us close"? Bull****. We beat them 60% of the time which is a remakrably high percentage given the amount of meetings.

The Commanders are our doormats. They are our *****es.

There is no rivalry. There used to be up until the early 90's. But ever since the mid-90's, it's pretty much been a one-sided beating.

The Commanders are an afterhought. They are garbage. Always have been, always will be no matter how many times their idiot fans try to talk up there 1 legit Lombari and 2 asterick-ed strike gifts.

The only time I would ever fear the Commanders is when there is a labor stoppage because that's the only time they aren't garbage.

That or Dallas vs Washington NFC title games.

How does it feel to be our doormat? How does it feel to be the ***** in a supposed "rivalry"?

Your really believe the delusion that your team is "rebuilding"?

:lmao::laugh1::lmao::laugh1::lmao:

if our team got as amped up as Washington does to play us we would destroy them. it seems like our boys get amped to play NY and Philly and are just like meh when we play the skins.

Seeing that both teams are 5-5 in the last 10 games, I got no clue what you are talking about. The Cowboys did as they were supposed to do in December and beat one of the 5 worst teams in NFL history (the 2009 Commanders)

Good for you. Now if you want to bring up strike shortened years, don't forget in one of those seasons we ran you over on the way to claiming our first Lombardi. Somehow, if the Cowboys won that game, I doubt you'd bring up the strike year

Because re-building ALWAYS requires a team to go 1-15
