I wish we could have seen more of Deuce as well. I believe he was left on the sidelines mostly because they felt the need for running back blitz pickups. Zeke had some great pickup blocks.
I think a plan for Deuce is in place and it will be deployed when the situation is right. Then we can have a better level of judgement going forward as to his NFL worthiness. I can't wait to see him unleashed as a porsche gets unleashed on a sunny clear day in July. Free the Deuce sooon!

I Love our Rookie Corner…he played well and I feel okay knowing Bland is getting healthy

The running backs as a whole were the only thing I thought did not look good.
Only running yards we got seemed to come from the WRs.
I want to see Deuce with the starting OL. He's so small the D can't see him and all he needs is a crease to get to the second level.

A td and hard blocking. Not 2016 stats of course! But contributes.
It was excruciating watching the Cowboys on 3rd and short, 4th and short and on short yardage goal line plays last year. I am not delusional, I don't expect Zeke to be the Zeke of old - but he will definitely help us be better in those areas. He already showed it on the second TD.

Many of the veteran he expected to look good did - Parsons, Lamb and a few others.

What excited me were some of the young players. Overshown, Carlson, Bebee ...

Then a player who isn't young, but is new to the Cowboys - Kendrick.

What difference disruptive thumpers make at the LB position. This level of play from the 2nd level has been missing for a quite some time.
Dude was a scram jet, one of those new hypersonic middles. Wait until he season up too.

Looked Good:
Al Harris. He has helped Lewis develop into a better player and had Carson ready
Brian Shottenheimer: Good gameplan for the most part. Nothing looked too predictable
Mike Zimmer: Good mix of pass rush and coverage calls. Had guys ready to play..

Look Bad:
John Fassel: Punt coverage needs a lot of work. Looked meh in preseason and no better today.
Mike McCarthy: Should have let Aubrey try from 71 (kidding...sort of)
Look Bad:

Amen on this.
Brooks sped down field but whiffed on his tackle attempts.
He played poorly.

Some of the best performances were by those that did not play last season for the Cowboys.

Whoever declared that the Cowboys did nothing to improve in the offseason failed to account for the players returning from injury like Overshown or veterans like Kendricks who was familiar with Zimmer's system.

They also failed to account for the high level of success the Cowboys have with mid-range draft picks like Bland, Ferguson, Cox and Wilson

How many big, multi-million-contract defensive veteran free agents got two sacks and an INT on Sunday?

And Caelon Carson? All I know is that the most successful WR for the Browns was Jerry Jeudy and his 25 yards. Cooper had 16 yards. Elijah Moore had 9 yards. Carson was covering somebody having a bad day.
I was honestly impressed with Carson. At the beginning of the game they seemed to try and go after him. In the last quarter they just flat out stopped and went towards Diggs on the left side. I think he covered his side well. Yes he gave up a TD. But its bound to happen.

For Zimmer to make him the starter on that side of the field makes me believe they have something in Carson and they have confidence in him.

Agree:

Just look at the Browns WR stats for the game:

Jerry Jeudy 3-25
Amari Cooper 2-16
Elijah Moore 3-9
Cedrick Tillman 1-3

The entire Browns receiving squad, four WR's, combined for 53 yard yards. Both TE's and their backup RB had better yards per catch. The WR's averaged less than 6 yards per catch.

A bit late, but I saw this PFN article this morning.
3 Studs & 3 Duds

What stood out was they had Zack Martin listed as one of their Duds.

Studs:
Overshown, Turpin & Lawrence.
Duds:
Tolbert, Shoonmaker & Martin.

Not sure anyone looked bad, at least not relative to expectations. Ceedee didn’t look great in the second half and Turpin made some key errors, but both also made huge plays.

I'll take that every game. The rushing from that game as well.

The score looked good by halftime and only got better. Cleveland scoring in garbage time, I can overlook. I give Dak, Cooks, Lamb, Elliott, Kendricks, Parsons, and Diggs game balls.

The run game wasn't very good (wasn't terrible) They're still lacking a good RB IMHO.
The O-line looked pretty good, not great. The rookies held their own, both gave up plays and made plays.
Defense in general looked good. I didn't see us getting blown off the line much.
LB's looked good.
MM was good at play calling.
Zimmer was good at calling defense.
