So, you want to go back to the old days when they played 14 games?
lol ok I must of missed something.... what I am saying is todays NFL with the addition of new rules every year to make it easier with less work for the offensive players to gain more yardage and score more points effectively cutting defenses at their knees, it would never hold up to the rigor the older NFL teams and its players had to do to score and gain steam based solely on what they did on the field. Nowadays, you cant touch an offensive player without drawing a flag. The NFL is geared to making more artificial points to drive more fans. Players, especially offensive ones, do not hae to work so hard to put points up. That is what I mean by watered down. We are buying whatever they are selling even if it has been cheapened. Don' get me wrong. I still love the Cowboys and watch Cowboys games, but my Sundays are not based on only football like they used to and neither is the rest of the week win or lose.
So yeah, football back in the day was funner to watch.

I kind of agree. it is what it is. the goal is to get more points and bring in the fringe fans and grow the pie. the NFL has failed to grow the pie outside of US, thus their market is the US market.

with that said, its the rules that applies to everyone. in the end, the team that scores more and is able to score more wins...20-17, or 30-27.

with the new rules, there is premium on defenders that can rush the passer, vs. those that stop the run. its made most defensive players smaller (faster) relative to offensive players comparing this era to the old era (I don't have data to back this up, just it seems that way, so I could be way off).

I won't say it was more fun in the past vs. today. it is what it is. everyone has to adjust.

lol yeah thats it....
Back to the old days when they could hit qbs and receivers over the middle. Back when the could destroy a players brain to where they could end up like Mike Webster pulling out his own teeth with a pair of pylers and Super gluing them back in.
