Romo, the offense, and the starting defense all looked in mid-season form. The second team even looked good at times.

I'm glad nothing hit the Jerry-Tron; maybe that story will die a well-deserved death . . .

I thought the 1st team o looked good other than that pick. don't know if Romo just threw up a duck cause of the pressure or if it was miscommunication with Olgetree. I thought it looked good though given we were missing Roy and Sam.

the defense was solid but the screens got to us and another scoring drive before the half. Wade has to chill with the zone crap on last minute drives before the half. they settled down after the 1st drive and the blitzes looked great and timed very well. pass defense looked good.

all in all the 1st teams looked good for the 3rd preseason game.

I thought Romo was so so, maybe even slighty bad. That INT was horrible, and his big throw to Austin was way off target. Miles had lots of room to run but Romo threw the ball late and off target.

If it's the throw I'm thinking of, Romo had to throw it behind Austin because that's where the hole in the zone was (leading him would've meant throwing towards the defender Austin was heading towards). So I don't think "off target" is fair (though "late" may be).

No doubt the INT was a poor decision, but with a couple of exceptions, I actually thought Romo looked very sharp tonite. Just my opinion.

I agree Fred they looked pretty solid out there.

Yeah i hate the fact that Wade always goes into a soft defense at the last minutes. Every time he does that, the other team gets chunks of yardage at a time.

I am not convinced the pick was on Romo. Yes, he was throwing under pressure. But, it looked like it might have been a blown route on Ogletree. I could easily be wrong. This was one reason I wasn't as happy with Ogletree as others tonite.

Check out the interview with Garrett on DC.com... it was on Romo not Ogletree

Romo couldn't really follow through on the throw cause of pressure in his face. Ogletree was actually open for 6 if Romo could've stepped into the throw.

I could be wrong but I think Romo would have checked it down to the Wide open Witten under neath but just wanted to make a play downfield because it was pre-season.

Im probably wrong though and he would've done it regardless.

1st team didn't look great to me, but they did look good. Still too many stupid mistakes and that pick by Romo was pretty awful.

Romo could have thrown 2 or 3 INTs if the 49ers held on to ball. Also the OL cost us points. But I liked Barber and Jones running the ball and Witten looked good.

I agree with whats been said.

The first team D looked very good. I would like them to tighten up on the screen reads and throws to RB's/FB's somewhat though. Too ofetn they have far too much space to work in and head upfield.

I am still worried a little about the lack of game changing plays by this D. Save for one pass break up by TNew i did not see a DB make a move on the ball at all.

The O looked ok. Romo's INT was all on him. He went for the glory pass(thats not unusual for him) but he should have hit a wide open JWit across the middle to move the sticks. Throws like that cause games to be lost or at least momentum to be lost.

The O looks to be more short to mid range passes this year, not the quick strike looks we went for in the past. If this is the case we need to make sure we score TD's & limit penalties because there's only so many long drives you will realistivcally have in a game.

Penalties will cost this team. I dont want to hear about "its only preseason" either. The 3rd gae of preseason is supposed to be the dress rehearsal for the big show but we continue to have mental lapses and dumb mistakes. These will cost us dearly in games. I am confused as to whether these are due to poor coaching or DUMB players. I think the latter beacuse we had the same mistakes under BP.

Finally the depth on this team is a sad state of affairs. We have none outside of TE and RB worth speaking of.

DL - Hatcher made a play but Siavvi and Dixon have done squat. I like Robinson, he seems to be around the ball and able to create pressure.
OL - Free seems to be ok this preseason. HATE Proctor badly. McQ has had his chance and is average at very very best. The waiver wire is still in order here IMO.
LB - ultra thin,
DB - Mickens and Smith have done nothing at all. I expected a little more from them, i know they;re rooks but gimme some kind of indication that you can do it.

All in all its gonna be a hard year IMO. I see a 10-6 season if things go well for us.

They did look good on the TD drive. They looked good when the RBs carried the ball. I think Garrett tried a couple of schemes and we saw which worked best:

1st Drive: Pass, Run, Pass, Run, Pass(INC), Pass, Pass(INC), Pass(INC), Pass, FG/Penalty, Punt. (Pass-7 Run-2)

2nd Drive: Run, Run, Run, Pass(INC), Pass(INC), Pass, Pass, Run, Pass(INT).
(Pass-5 Run-4)

3rd Drive: about 8 minutes: Run, Pass, Run, Run, Run, Run, Pass, Run, Run, Run, Pass, Run, Run(TD). (Pass-3 Run-10)

I think that Romo really likes Ogletree and he was bound and determined to make the guy look good last night (which he did). I think he was going to go to Ogletree on that pass, regardless of who else was open. IMO, Tony was trying to get a TD for him and the pressure didn't allow him to step up and that killed the pass.

I don't know this for sure, which goes without saying... but in a preseason where Tony has looked sharp the entire time, he was just trying to help a guy he likes.

Don't forget too that Ogletree had his guys beat. If the defender wasn't in Tony's face and he could have stepped into the throw... I think we have a TD right there.

i disagree, no way Romo goes out of his way to make somebody look good at the expense of the team. And if he did he was way out of line for doing it.

I might be wrong. But if I'm not, it wouldn't have been at the expense of the team because Ogletree was open deep. If Romo could have stepped into the throw, it would have been six. So if Witten was open and Ogletree was open, any viable QB would have gone for the TD throw instead of the first down throw.

9 minute drives are defense back breakers. :D
