The ball is in Garrett’s court to prove that he can lead a team to significant playoff wins. Making an NFC title game could go a long way to change people’s perception of him.

Agree, that is how you ultimately judge Garrett. But to a Head Coach is like the CEO of a company, he doesn't do the marketing or accounts receivable. He brings guys in or works with his Board (the Front Office) on these moves.

The Head Coach/CEO has to put a solid core together first and he has done that. He came into a team that was a 1-7 disaster and then had some 500 teams, but in the last four years they have built a very solid core. They were 12-4, then had a 4-12 season when the Franchise QB went down, which sinks anyone. Then 13-3 and he was named Coach of the Year. Last year had all the problems with the Zeke Suspension and injuries and they were still basically 500. This year they overcame a ton of problems to win 5 of their last 6 and are basically a lock to make the playoffs.

All of the following can be true -

Garrett has plenty of faults
Garrett has a .560 winning percentage as HC, better than average
Garrett has lead a young team that is clearly on the upswing.

Forest for the trees. Like you said, Garrett doesn't hold or overthrow passes. Cowboys are rarely not ready to play. They are the best team in their division. Imagine if they had a QB who scared people. Add 100 more plays to the playbook.

I guess none of you were mad when we "won" that meaningless game against the Eagle's backups last year..

We got better draft position because of it and all that was left at our pick was a soft Taco.

What is going to the playoffs and being one and done going to get Us?
Been saying this for weeks now.

Backing into the playoffs isn't good enough for me. Recipe for a first round loss.

Tired of that. Sick and tired of that.
