Fish: Campo on Hard Knocks problems

The good news is that when all goes down the drain again we can fire the coach and act like it means something,,,

As I pointed out, the Patriots got the best coach in modern NFL history when they were $19 million OVER THE CAP. Your claim simply doesn’t hold up.
While I don't disagree with your argument, I feel compelled to point out that Coach Beli was not exactly held in such rarified air at that time.

Hindsight is pretty great though. Sometimes to our chagrin.

I rewatched a few Hard Knocks season lately. Pretty comical how bad we were run compared to teams like Baltimore.

No wonder we went 5-11 three years in a row.

It's pathetic SMH... Even crazier to think that some fans don't see Jerry Jones as the issue.

I can make one guarantee on this topic.

The difference between winning a superbowl this year or not will not be our appearance on a tv show.

Though no team that's been on the show won the SB that year. Cowboys have to (once again) make history...

Let's see how the players respond to the exposure. The rookies will, very likely, enjoy the attention, while the older veterans aren't nearly as likely to permit the introduction of outside notoriety disturb their concentration. The carnival atmosphere isn't anything foreign to them, since it's always been taken for granted that fan and media influence will occur. I think more is made of it than what actually affects their concentration. Some may even do more to impress the crowds that gather. If it bugs the coaches to any extent, there's not much they can do about it. Hard Knocks will occur, like it or not.

Campo never shoulda been HC and everyone here knows it so whatever he says is voided.
I can’t blame Campo for inheriting a team that didn’t have the talent of a Division 2 college team. The salary cap so bad that no talent could be signed. Campo just happened to come along when the check was due for all of those previous year’s mismanagement. Campo should not have been HC, but who could do better at that point? Campo was hired to fill in while the team wasted a few years recovering. I think he knew the situation and decided to take the job anyway.

And there it is.....people still want to blame Quincy Carter. I'd take him over the dope we have making 160 million right now....

Bill probably got the best of him but on the O side overall it was seriously lacking.

I just hope that Hard Knocks won't interfere with what we're building here.

I reserve that distinction for the Red-Headed Clown, Garrett. The Clown wasted many years with a few decent teams, 10 years down the drain with that bum. Campo was a fill in coach for a really bad team.

a decade plus completely wasted. Garrett should’ve never been here in the first place.

In his defense, we were in actual salary cap hell when he was coach. He didn't have much to work with as the Joneses had to figure out how to manage the cap. Not saying he could have done much with better, but it was actually a terrible promotion to take.

Maybe a better coach could have done more with less, but Campo wasn't that guy.

that team was an absolute mess. Jerry screwed it up good. Hence the Parcells hire. It was a hole Jerry couldn’t dig himself out of no matter who the coach was.

For those that remember Campo got completely screwed. It was the first few years after the SB run that they had little to no talent. They were also in salary cap hell. Campo didnt have a prayer and no other coach would have had one either. That was also the time Jones was picking the shante Carvers of the world.

Campo never should have been the HC, but he was also doomed to fail regardless.
