Just what we need another TE. Then we could have the best 2nd round TE Shoemaker as our TE 3.

It’s in play within the first 3 rds
Those Texas A&M pass rushers that the Cowboys YouTube draft community seems to hate will be in play then. Big strong 5 techs that can move inside to rush the passers. This board will flip if we draft one of those kids early.

Think about DT's who can play either interior spot that offer quickness off the snap and rush abilities.

I think you are spot on with quick twitch 3 techs but he likes 5 tech ends that can move inside as well. The A&M kids fit that bill.

They want a stud running back as well. If Jeanty is gone who do you think they will target. I think they will move on from Dowdle personally.

Remember they still can resign Golston and have Kneeland who can kick inside against the pass as well.

I agree, if Jeanty is gone, think they are going to grab the next best.

I suspect Jerry already has his draft board printed. Changes will happen if someone crashes and burns at the combine or they get hurt or they get arrested.

I am hearing rumors of Anthony Lynn as the offensive coordinator. If he signs that will give even more clues about what the Cowboys plans are as he specializes in the run game. Marty Ball is back baby…..

Interesting!
If true, I would believe the focus would be on adding another powerful OG, and a couple big, tough RBs. That's exactly what I've been asking for.

It’s going to be a two year process either way. For some reason I have a feeling Martin is going to play one more season.

Yeah, I take it as a forgone conclusion Martin will step away, but he may not want his career to end like this. If so, OG falls down the board and maybe a defensive position rises.

I think the Cowboys will resign Osa, Gholston, and Lewis but I don’t think they will bring in any prominent free agents. The big X wide receiver is Mingo. The Cowboys traded a 4th round pick for him. No matter what people say he will get the first shot at the X. If we learned anything with the Schott hiring is Joneses are dug in on doing it their way.

Everything is pointing to a high rb if not in rd 1, definitely in rd 2. You would think they also might want to upgrade right guard if Zach does retire.

Really hope we hire someone else as our OL coach but Schott, Solari have worked together also in Seattle

The issue you run into with the ”just draft one later” is exactly what happened last season.

We waited. It was picked clean.

But in those late rounds you either end up with Bucky Irving (Great) or Marshawn Lloyd (Not great)

I would much prefer Henderson in round 2 or Judkins in round 3. But 31 Other teams feel the same

We see it the same. Osa at 3T fits that Tampa 2 sceme. To bring in a premium pick WR after trading for Mingo seems excessive for a run first offense.

Go back to the Duece draft, excellent deep class that year and we ended up with a back who is a healthy scratch

Folks can fight me on it, but I think there's a solid case for taking Penn State TE Tyler Warren at #12. My argument for drafting Warren is really contingent on some unforeseen scenario where defensive prospects like Mason Graham or Abdul Carter being available not happening. Here's my rationale (in no specific order):
  • Our passing game needs help, but I don't see a receiver worth taking at #12. Some like Burden, but he's too rich for me that early in R1. I like Egbuka more and could squeeze my eyes if we took him in that spot, but doing so probably wouldn't be my first choice.

  • Tyler Warren is the best TE in the class and one of the few blue-chip prospects in this draft class. Warren's a prolific pass-catcher with the right demeanor, elite ball skills, and huge catch radius which is critical when you have a QB that isn't always precise locating the ball like Dak.

  • I'm a big Ferg fan and was so even before we drafted him. That said, he's an unrestricted FA after 2025. I think he'll likely command a salary somewhere slotted between Dalton Schultz (3-years/$36M) and Evan Engram (3-years/$41.3M) or possibly more. Last year's #12 pick salary slot was 4-years/$18.6M is well below what Ferg will likely get in free agency. That matters to the Jones Boyz.

  • Some may say "well, what if Jeanty is there at #12?" I like Jeanty, but there should be other RBs available later in the draft that can be very productive. That's not the case at TE.

  • You know Jerry is always trying to make the past the present. I think they love traditional TE types that can block inline which Warren can do. You know Jerruh's brain is thinking "this could be our next Witten."
Im really big on the importance of a great TE as a security blanket for the QB. Just look at SF, Philly, KC, Baltimore and on but im not sold on Warren at 12 and i would much prefer Graham or Carter

Im worried the pick will be Burden unfortunately
