I have been saying this for some time. We owe nothing to no one, if they out played their contract.
Pay them accordingly to their future performance. If they want more trade them.
Then you would be ok with doing away with low rookie contracts?
Or...are you suggesting the player get screwed over on rookie deal, and then the player take less on his second contract because you dont think he will good by the end of his second contract?
All because..."He should just feel lucky he's able to play a sport for a living"
