Fish: Prescott I don't think my contract is going to prevent us from making any moves

I can not wait to see all the moves we make.

Close your eyes and think about next season. I bet it feels different.

Ok, Dakster after Micah will see what pennies are left over to get some talent to carry your inept............

Dak does still not get it:

Earning a lot of money does not mean you have something to say. It does not mean you are intelligent. It does not say you are successful. All it does say is that you are going to have a lot of money.

So please. Everybody knows you are not the brightest candle on the cake. You have one bad chararcter and are a cancer to this team. Good players leave this team because you are such a bum.

No need to try to convince us else. We know you for much longer than we all would like to.
Dak does not need to get it. Does CD get it? Is Micah gonna get it? GM Jethro signs the checks.

Our cap situation opens up a bunch starting next year, including the next couple of years. They likely restructure his contract and backloaded so it will not be an issue for the 3 to 4 seasons. They likely are able to spend in free agency for the first time in about 30 years.
They keep rolling cap savings over to the next season. They have always had money to spend in free agency

The lack of self awareness and accountability is embarrassing yet expected given his previous comments.

They only have 23M in 2025 cap.

22M of that is from the rollover of the 2024 cap.

of course the 2025 number will change.
Yeah itll certainly change, but I think people are underestimating how little $20ish million is these days with the inflated cap. As soon as the Cowboys do the bare minimum in FA in signing a backup QB, punter, long snapper, slot CB and a guy like Turpin that carry over money is already gone before you even touch any of your higher money starters including your starting MLB, DE, DT, RG, RB and #2WR. At least one of those will be addressed via the draft, however there are still a lot of holes to fill in comparison to their cap situation and I dont see a ton of hope about depth guys under contract stepping into the starting lineup for 2025 in those positions outside of maybe the combo of Sam Williams/Kneeland at DE.

Even if we had 100M to spend, Jethro and son would have no idea how to spend that money. Diggs is a 31 year old wr. You don't pay wrs that age.

Agreed and this is the issue. They may be able to clear up the funds for a bigger name, but its likely to be a guy on the back end of his career who will settle for a short deal. The Cowboys wont have the cap flex to sign a player on a longer deal if the kick money into the future.

Granted he hasnt completely fallen off a cliff and should still be an upgrade over what weve had this year Diggs does have the dreaded 3 year decline....Yards per game have gone down for three years straight and yards per catch have gone down 3 years straight, catches per game have gone down three straight years, yards before catch is down 3 years straight. While not massive we are seeing some obvious signs of decline in his numbers which should not be taken lightly for a WR entering his age 32 season and coming off an ACL injury.

I'd take Diggs, especially if he comes at a discount given his situation, but this is not the type of signing you do and claim the WR position is fixed.
