100% ......I honestly think he sees Dak as being close to being that guy and is scared to death that he could put it all together with another team. Something we don't hear much about is everything and/or how they have invested in Dak. Looking at the resources, money, and time invested and getting this close ........to give it up and start over?
It's another example of the "Sunk Cost" fallacy. Just because Jerry has invested HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! doesn't mean Dak is going to go to another team and do any better. Think about all the players Dak has had around him over the years and hasn't been able to overcome middling teams. SMH... he isn't going to go to someplace like Arizona and suddenly knock em dead.

You don't cut Dak.... find a team he's willing to be traded to and get something out of him at least!
We've gone through this ad nauseam, even if we find a team, it's not in Dak's interest to waive the NTC. He's prepared to sit on the bench for a year (even if Jerry was brave enough to bench him....which he's not), he'll then hit the 2025 free agency based on his 2023 years work (and France will sell him as being fresh due to having a rest).

If that's his mentality then it explains a lot. No actual competitive, franchise QB would be willing to sit on the bench and waste a year of their career. That's a loser mentality, so you might be right.

It's why, I believe, you can't differentiate between Jerry's awful management and the Dak position....they're mutually inclusive.
Jerry can't evaluate (or bear to lose 'His Own Players'), so chooses the easy option ... to keep extending. We're pretty much the only top franchise that uses the Rinse/Repeat strategy (and hope we improve).

have no choice "who do we replace him with" is what they all say
Yep, it is what 'they' say, however, the response is with the saved CAP....build the Lines and offensive pieces and fit the inexperienced QB (to an armchair ride) ...ALA 2016.

Dak is a good but not great QB who wants to be paid franchise destroying levels of money. And yes, guys like Daniel Jones and Deshaun Watson and many others are also being paid franchise destroying amounts of money. Dak getting paid that much is just "market" value but none of the other teams paying that much to second and third tier guys are doing well with it. Dallas is under no obligation to continue to do so.

Hard to find suitors that will take an overpaid player that underperformed is the playoffs. Cousins fits part of that description but he was able to be brought on a new contract......gonna have to resurrect Al Davis to find someone foolish enough to give us anything for him.

The reboot is truly necessary

Good show, about what 2 scouts told Fish about Cowboys, just their opinion.
One thing that came out of it is both JG and MM have asked Dak to do too much, instead of just letting him be who he is.
So to me it is what I sometimes talk about, it is how you use a player that matters. Dont force a square peg into a round hole, it doesnt work very good.

They talk about dak, guyton, beebe (he should be center only, not a guard) and some other guys and stuff.

Yeah, they asked too much alright, they asked him to win Playoff games. :muttley:

awsome. another Dak thread. lets talk about stuff we haven't talked about. perhaps a multi choice option at the top with all the summarized comments and people can just vote on what they would have said.
lets see how fast this one gets to 23 pages. perhaps even people will have Dak fatique and we only get to 9 pages.

then again, lots of cowboys players went else where and did better. accomplished more. so its not unprecedented.

Well it is central to everything we do moving forward.

To be fair, if Dak had played with even a modicum of control ,vrs GB, he would of been extended by now.

There we go, most everyone's in agreement with that statement.
Indeed, if we cut him now, Pre-June, we can reset the CAP.... and return to this conversation 2025 when Dak hits free agency.

. The only thing he hasn't had is great coaching, and he's not getting that here, ever.

If it was just Garrett and just Moore, I could see a case for not getting great coaching but McCarthy is known league wide for being a productive offensive mind and quarterback centric.

He's been a QB coach for the Chiefs and had two OC jobs before HC.....what more does Dak need for God's sake?

Dak, coaches, CD, Parson, they all sucked in that game. if it was me, I would get rid of all of them. but I get it. people are Dak Obsessed.
some of them will literally cease to exist when Dak is gone.

and you missed the point. there was another 87 threads on GB game, with everything getting hashed out 12982 times.
so do we need another one?
