Not even close. Lee and ro don't rush the passer. But much better than dead last.

Yeah, Sean Lee has 0 career sacks. He's an INT and tackle machine though. McClain isn't a pass rusher either. He's a pure MLB. The best pass rushing LBs were Carter (by far) and Wilber.

Another added bonus is it will open the draft even more for us. Not super high on RB in first, but this would make it easier to accept.

I thought I had read earlier last week that Hardy will likely agree to a Ray Rice style 2 game suspension in a deal with the NFL. However, I just came across this article with SI's Peter King saying Hardy will likely be suspended 6 games. Whatever his suspension is, i think should only affect the dollars he gets, but definitely be a person I would want on the roster.

Sign one more depth DE and the DL goes from a weakness to being at least competent. The biggest challenge is I don't see Hardy, Mincey or Lawrence as a strong side DE really. I'm sure we'd swing Mincey and Lawrence over, but I dunno.

That said, I was very pleasantly surprised by Lawrence's effectiveness against the run, so maybe he can do it. That would be great.

Yep. If we get Hardy, we only need to make D-line free agency moves similar to what we've been doing at LB. We're good at bargain shopping. Problem is, sometimes you need to look outside of the clearance rack to get impact players.

Well we didn't that average boy Murray. So we should spend the cash on him.

Thanks for the Lee nugget. I thought he had one, must have been in preseason that I recall.

Just made a post about this in another thread before seeing this... I think this is a smart move. We need to badly address the D-line but there aren't many free agents or rookie prospects that will make an immediate improvement. Outside of Suh, there were no big free agents this year. Guys like Sheard would have been smart low-cost signings, but there's no guarantee they would have been much better than guys like Spencer/Selvie. But Hardy is a guy who can be brought in for cheap and make a huge impact. He reminds me of this year's Melton. A low-risk, high-reward "prove it" deal. We needed edge rushers badly last year. Mincey was solid but he's no superstar, and Lawrence didn't come around until the end of the season. I really like Crawford at DT. We still need some 3-tech depth and possibly a starting 1-tech, but depth is easier to find. We need a starting-caliber edge rusher in the worst way. If we get Hardy, we can go BPA in the 1st round. I really really hope Marcus Peters falls to us. He can be a great CB.

Hardy won't cheap IMO. And much higher expectations than Melton had last year. We're talking about a top 3 pass rusher in the league. Very exciting news.

I'm 100% for depth signings. unfortunately for two seasons, our depth has too often been our starters.

Hardy can't find a job right now. He'll likely have to do something similar to what Melton did last year contract-wise
