Yeah - I think he term Negotiations was a little strong. Negotiations sounds like they are working hard on getting it done. "Talking" is a better term.

Well his negotiating comment has been picked up everywhere and people are running with it.

I found this and the 911 Transcripts but not what you stated:

NFL won’t get Hardy’s trial evidence

Transcripts: Greg Hardy 911 calls

That's old news, Hardy's legal team turned over the trial evidence:

Greg Hardy meets with NFL officials in New York

Greg Hardy met with league officials Wednesday to make his case to come off the Commissioner's Exempt List and immediately be reinstated, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source with knowledge of the proceedings.

The defensive end left the meeting in New York with no immediate resolution, according to Rapoport, who added that Hardy turned over documents from his legal case.

This NOT another thread about the case, abuse or the woman...Make it one and you will watch from the bench.

But it is a topic that is pertinent to the player being discussed, isn't it? These things have a bearing on his availability as a player and it has a hand in negotiations.
I don't really understand the desire to not discuss it- especially since it matters to the topic being discussed.

Now I do get a thread being thoroughly derailed by making a pure discussion about the woman and her character, but I guess I missed those posts so far in this thread.
I think talking about his problems and the ancillary things involved absolutely should be part of the discussion.

But... this may be why I would never be considered for a Mod position on a board. I'm going to rethink my stance.
You're a good debater...

Not true. I considered you. I'm thinking you're a good fit for Linc, the one on the left!

I died laughing over his role in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka! being the Black Resistance leader with a white wife and white kids.

Solid.

Several major problems.1.This thread is not about the case or the woman. That's has been discussed to pieces in two other threads. Both which ended up being a sniping contest between the normal players. 2. Very little of the discussion of the "incident" is based on anything but rumor. So going back to the beginning The thread is if ,not should.

Yeah. I mean sure. But we haven't really paid a free agent since Carr.

Might be time for agents to use another team for leverage.

There still seems to be an emotional element to hearing Cowboys attached to a player or story.

I does appear that agents might have used the Raiders and Jax as teams that where supposedly interested this year because everybody knew they had huge cap space.

Murray was linked to both the Raiders and Jax but I don't think he ever met with them.

Hardy was linked to the Raiders but then their owners supposedly says they are not interested.

I understand your points. I still don't believe the objects in question should be shunned though- just "Moderated".
I'm not going to make waves though- I don't like the bench.

I don't think that this is what Jerry and/or Stephen have said. I think they said that they weren't going for the Tier one guys. Suh is the Tier one and they didn't do that. I think they have had interest in Hardy for a long time but they simply needed to let him find his market and get the Murray thing settled. Now, I think the time is right. Doesn't mean we will get him but I suspect the interest is very real.

Me either. They said their philosophy is to draft BPA and fill needs specifically via free agency. And DE is a need.

And that they are going to use their cap money "efficiently". Well getting a top tier talent for less than top tier dollar would be the definition of efficiency.

And sometimes, you just say hell with it, because the opportunity you thought would never come along, just came along. This could be a Charles Haley type move, putting us over the edge.

We've also had a really tight cap in that period of time.

next year it's going to open up as Ware, Austin, Ratliff and even Romo money clears up.

He won't do anything when it comes to paying for big time free-agents next year either.. the new cowboys of Jerry and his son, will not pay for top free-agents anymore. it's the new cowboys way. bring in scrubs, and hope it keeps working like it did this past season. i say it won't work in the long run.

I hope we don't take an all or nothing approach. There are times that bringing in a strategically placed free agent is a very strong proposition, and winning teams are known to do that.
