just because you might not like or believe it from fish...does not make it a troll job.

He could be wrong, He might look like a fool after it is all said and done...there is no way I think he is trolling on this topic however.

yup. Fish is a media guy like all others but this was a pretty serious call in and break the story deal.
he would have been on in an hour anyway so he received a call or text and break in on his own.

he was up front that he had no data on numbers and wouldn't speculate on that part.

i don't think this is trolling.
he generally trolls cowboys haters but you can almost see the schtick it is so thick; this was quite different.

Dallas Cowboys have some interest in free agent DE Greg Hardy, but nothing imminent

The Dallas Cowboys are one of at least six teams that have expressed some interest in embattled defensive end Greg Hardy. But a free agent deal with Hardy isn’t imminent, according to a source.

The Cowboys have a big need for a pass-rushing defensive end. Hardy played the last five seasons for the Carolina Panthers and had 15 sacks in 2013. Hardy, the Panthers’ franchise player last season ($13.1 million), only played in one game in 2014.

A week into free agency, Hardy still remains one of the top defensive players available on the open market because he comes with off-the-field baggage.

No one year deal. If signing him lock him up for at least 3 years.

there's little incentive for him to sign a three year deal. I can see a Melton type contract, where year 2 he makes like 13 million or he's a free agent, but not a three year deal.

Fisher later clarified his "in negotiations" comment to mean not close but talking.
The Yahoo guy rather backs that up.

Since Hardy is likely to be suspended the negotiation could be a tough one to hammer out.
Cowboys likely want some buy in like with Brent and Hardy likely wants to walk away with at least 10-12 million in day 1 money.
I could see Hardy wanting a player option and the team wanting a team option.

But I think both sides should be motivated here.

Dallas is bright lights big city for the NFL and a Hardy of 2012 and 2013 could have 100 million earning potential after 2 good years here.

This Hardy situation is looking more and more like a one year deal. The signing team gets a relative bargain and the player gets a year to repair their stock and renter the market looking for a big payday next year.

Several of these second tier players like Knighton and Clayborn have already done that.

If we get him and he's in a contract year, more likely he plays lights out and full motor for a huge pay-day. With the window of Romo, it could be the best option for us.

I don't think there is any cause for Stranger Danger BP. I think what he meant to say is Tweekers. If so, Stranger Danger is not a concern but you better be worried about hidding Dexedrine........

Broaddas doesn't speculate . He won't say anything until he knows something .

For the record, I do like to read Broaddus, I just know better than to put too much stock in what reporters speculate on.

I found this and the 911 Transcripts but not what you stated:

NFL won’t get Hardy’s trial evidence
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article11383256.html

Transcripts: Greg Hardy 911 calls
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article9121739.html

Strange goings ons in those 911 transcripts.
Hardy was on the phone most of the time avoiding a psycho woman apparently and then another call with some other lady yelling in the background about some girl is getting beat up.
Strange.

Yes, I saw that report but it's difficult to completely believe anything that is reported these days.

I assume that Dallas was waiting for the Raiders or Jax to be "out" before they got into the negotiations. I think the Cowboys might have finally learned that agents use any interest by the Cowboys to drive up the price with other teams on free agents. The go to move by both agents and media seems to be to link players to the Cowboys.

Yeah. I mean sure. But we haven't really paid a free agent since Carr.

Might be time for agents to use another team for leverage.

All the owners have to do is agree not to sign him. What would the union do? He doesn't have a contract to play in the NFL at this time. So basically he is unemployed.

Try telling owners not to win and make more money... Many of them are probably, behind closed doors, just as, if not, more sleazy than many of these players. And they also compete with each other. It's not like Mora didn't whine against the Cowboys and Commanders to get them fined.

Strange.

Neighbors hear a screaming girl and a bunch of banging and crashing. They assumed she was in trouble rather than the one causing the trouble.

Brandon Carr has cashed checks for $19.4 Million from the Cowboys over the last three years. Not bad coin if the team really don't spend anything on free agents.

Carr was going on 4 years ago. how long are you guys going to play that card? the fact is that right now Jerry is sitting on his money now when it comes to big time free-agents.for the last 3 going on 4 years, they have done nothing.

Yeah - I think he term Negotiations was a little strong. Negotiations sounds like they are working hard on getting it done. "Talking" is a better term.

We've also had a really tight cap in that period of time.

next year it's going to open up as Ware, Austin, Ratliff and even Romo money clears up.

Playing football for a living is a job, like any other. The NFL surely has an interest in protecting its brand, as you suggest. Players have an even greater interest in not having their livelihood unduly interfered with. The Commish (and you) can argue until blue in the face that Hardy brought the league into disrepute with his conduct, but I don't see most judges taking that argument too seriously in the absence of a legal conviction.

As for the corporate world, since it would generally be much harder for a corporate employer to successfully argue that the far more private conduct of a typical employee threatens to tarnish its brand, it's even more unlikely that getting accused of a crime would result in reprisal, let alone (wrongful) dismissal.

Goodell and the league do what they want essentially, convicted or not as far as I know. There was no way he didn't know about the Ray Rice tapes, but suspended him for a year when they were released publicly. I'm sure the owner of the Ravens tried to work his magic and did, but the release screwed the perception.

That was the impression I got as well. I've separated more than a few altercations between couples where it was the female going nuclear and the guy retreating and then- here comes the cavalry trying to automatically attack the man.
Seen it many times. It happens almost every Friday and Saturday night in Austin on 6th Street.
