All the owners have to do is agree not to sign him. What would the union do? He doesn't have a contract to play in the NFL at this time. So basically he is unemployed.

quite simply that just wouldnt wash, not when there is a guy on OUR team guilty of manslaughter playing in the same league

Judging from all these comments, this will be heck of an interesting place this offseason if Hardy comes on board!

You'll see a lot of 180s on both sides whether he comes here or signs elsewhere

I like the thought in general, but some of the FO issues in Carolina were that he was only motivated by the money.

That was a primary reason the tagged him last year (prior to Holder incident). Regardless, I think he plays like a possessed man this year with a big chip on his shoulder

Yeah. He scares me in that regard, too. But there's no arguing about his play on the field.

I also don't know that I've got all that much regard for that Carolina front office, honestly. But all you can do is get the guy in here for a year and make your own assessment. If he delivers, he's as cheap now as he's ever going to be.

This is the signing that really needs to happen.

Yep. Early in FA it was more of a toss up, but we've weathered the possibility that anybody would come in with a crazy offer. It's a perfect fit for both sides right now if he passes our character/headache test. And there are tons of ways to structure it for everybody to be happy for at least a season.

I think it gets done if we have any interest at all.

I hate all these speculative articles mostly because they get my hopes up. I really want this to happen and believe it upgrades the entire defense significantly. I think running back can be replaced but this is another level player that we havnt had on defense in awhile. It just sucks we probably won't know until after he's taken off exempt list

Cowboys + Hardy: 'On Radar' As 2nd-Tier Buy

Cowboys 'In' On Hardy

Our own Mike Fisher on 105.3 The Fan on Monday morning reports that the Dallas Cowboys are now "in'' on the pursuit of Greg Hardy, the gifted free-agent defensive end with the domestic-violence issue.

What changed from last week, when **click-bait**.com was issued a very clear "no'' on the idea of Hardy-to-Dallas?

"Second-tier'' means "second chances.''

As Fish writes, "A lot of sacks but a lot of baggage. Their position has changed, sources telling 105.3 The Fan that Dallas now has Hardy "under consideration.''

I would offer him a Melton type deal but instead of the option being a team option, have it tied into conduct and incentives.

He looks like he will be suspended 6 games, so have the 2nd year automatically kick if he plays in 10 games, 75% of contract kicks in if he plays 8-9 games, and if he plays less than 8 games, it's reverts back to a team option.

Do you know who Dez is surrounding himself with? He has cut most of the old crew completely out, and is hanging with the "A" list of Roc. These are some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry. We're talking folks who are worth not millions but tens and hundreds of millions.

It kills me with how folks are still portraying someone who's pretty much turned his entire lifestyle completely around...

Calm down dude. It's not like those high dollar guys are saints. Do you read the news paper or watch the news?

I saw on Twitter that they are negotiating with him. I'm not positive if he's a good source but I'll check back in a bit to see what's going on. If true I'm happy w this. Guy is a really good de.

I don't think I would do this. I mean, it really depends on what Hardy's legal team thinks of the situation. I honestly don't see a 6 game suspension. I think the NFL will lose that. However, lets say they don't. Let's say it is 6 games. That's still 10 games and does anybody really think we are not making the playoffs? That's at least another game and probably more, to say nothing of next season. I think the window on Tony is 2 or 3 seasons. He's a guy that will be valuable to this team for more then just 2015 IMO. I'd try to lock him up. I think you run the risk of him simply not considering Dallas as a serious option. IDK, I guess we'll see.

not totally accurate. Broaddus only says something if he has been hearing it around the ranch, but he is often wrong. That means he sometimes gets used to relay false info, so what he "knows" is not necessarily indicative of the truth.

I agree. However, he is not getting 6 games, 4 at the most. From what I read early, the article was mentioning a 2 game suspension. No, I do not have the link on hand, I may in history at home.

I just read an article today about a 6 game suspension, I still think a star should be on his helmet.

I think that the team probably uses the local media to float certain ideas or info. May not be what they decide to do or it may be that they intentionally float info for specific reasons. It is what it is. I don't think it's all that big of a deal to be honest.
