Eh, I wonder how many of these guys have people around them like Hardy does and we just don't know it. It's not like Dez is surrounded by outstanding citizens.

Do you know who Dez is surrounding himself with? He has cut most of the old crew completely out, and is hanging with the "A" list of Roc. These are some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry. We're talking folks who are worth not millions but tens and hundreds of millions.

It kills me with how folks are still portraying someone who's pretty much turned his entire lifestyle completely around...

Yeah, collusion if kept secret won't get them caught. But the NFL has been caught for it before and they even flaunted it again recently with the punishment on the Cowboys and Commanders.

That one still boggles my mind. The clearest case of collusion if there ever was one, and they never got nailed for it.

And those people you're referring to are solid citizens simply because they have money?

We were always interested at the right price. Fish got it wrong earlier.

Yeah I'm not getting too excited he's an option. Fish is covering his bases so regardless of the outcome he can point to the article in which he "called it"

To his credit, Fish is the only person I have seen indicate Cowboys interest for two weeks now.

Judging from all these comments, this will be heck of an interesting place this offseason if Hardy comes on board!

I admit when I read the reports of the events that night last year, I thought Hardy would see jail time and at least a year long suspension. Now that the case has been thrown out essentially for whatever reason, on what basis is the league suspending him for 6 games????

I think it's even more likely we're looking at a multi year deal with a relatively expensive club option for years 2 and 3. Try-it-before you buy it year, and then it jumps up like the Melton deal did if the club wants to exercise the option. Otherwise, the player is free to do a long-term contract somewhere else. That protects the team in case the suspension is significant, and it looks better for the player and the agent in terms of his rehabilitation if the deal is for three years, meaning somebody was willing to take a bigger chance on him. By next year, if he's released for performance reasons (because the balloon payment is too rich for the team's blood), the domestic abuse accusations will be in the rear view window.

I like the thought in general, but some of the FO issues in Carolina were that he was only motivated by the money.

That was a primary reason the tagged him last year (prior to Holder incident). Regardless, I think he plays like a possessed man this year with a big chip on his shoulder

:muttley: Well you're off TheEmperor's Christmas card list.

Fisher was TheEmperor? The guy that had the massive Felix Jones crush those years ago?
He spent so much energy trying to convince everybody that Felix was an elite player...

I want a big time sack guy as much as anyone, but Hardy sounds like a guy making decisions that bring a lot of drama in his life.

If his ex was a party girl and an admitted narcotics user, seems very plausible that he knew about it and was indifferent to it. That's best case scenario. It doesn't seem like it was a situation where she had this secret addiction and he knew nothing about it. He wasn't married to her. Didn't have kids with her. If he wasn't okay with it in his life, he could have just ended that relationship. Add in reports of him keeping a mini arsenal. I don't know...there are some large warning signs with this guy.

It would have to be a super team-friendly contract. I don't see how you could give a big contract to Hardy while playing hardball with Dez.

P---- is a powerful thang. Brought down many a great man and nations

And he has said maybe, then no, now yes again.

Whatever.

And I wouldn't be shocked if that is exactly how the Cowboys have felt since...

Prior to FA no one knew what to expect because of his legal issues and possible impending suspension, so they may have been interested depending... Then there were rumors all over the place, apparently started by Rosehous, that Hardy was in negotiations with several teams for a very lucrative deal. That would take the Cowboys out of the running. Now, as we go into the second week of FA it is clear Hardy isn't the coveted asset many thought he might be and the price is going down, hence, the Cowboys being interested again.

It is very easy for me to believe the Cowboys have flip flopped on Hardy.
