Fish: What if it's Gibbs, not Bijan Robinson?

I like where we're picking and Gibbs would add some juice to the offense. According to Dane's rankings he wouldn't be a reach at 26.

exactly. wouldn't be able to carry the load and if he is forced to, his career will be short. he is part of a platoon RB approach and you don't draft a platoon player in the first round
This is why I am torn on Gibbs. He’s flashy and nice and can do a lot.

But do I spend a first? Or just go sign Jerick McKinnon to do exactly this?

This is a very deep RB class
several teams are going to get ones in the late 2nd thru 4th round

Assuming Bijan is gone, then wait

It is not about getting a good RB but a great one and I'd take either of these RB's and would move up to do that without hesitation.

All comes down to where you think the Cowboys are in relationship to the rest of the NFC and the difference in this QB with a great bothersome back to the DC's.

You put Gibbs out of the backfield with Lamb and Cooks down the field and Prescott has options he's not had much before. The speed of Gibbs at the second level is a real problem for defenses.

I like Gibbs because he played for a better coaching staff and team than Robinson did.

Good old day late, dollar short Fish! Coming with that hot breaking news about a week after reports were surfacing.

Gibbs is an elite WR that plays RB. A much welcomed addition and A+ draft pick
I’ve been thinking about Gibbs. Adding a weapon and elite weapon for dak is a sneaky move. A better player than any wide receiver at that point. He would be exciting.

:huh::huh:

Update: Jahmyr Gibbs officially measured in at 5-foot-9 1/8 and 199 pounds with 9 1/4-inch hands, 30 1/2-inch arms and a 74 1/8-inch wingspan.Feb 27, 2023
And he can fly without that wingspan.

I gotta say, as bad as the majority of DB's in the NFL are at tackling, Gibbs loose at the 2nd level gets me a little giddy. Fair to say, I start at the giddy point anyway.

i remember a few 5,9” running backs that did well in nfl.

payton
sanders
smith

got to have a good line or just be lighting quick and can juke.
And only one of those three backs had a potent passing game to keep it open.

I see that as a major difference. The Cowboys are set up with a good passing game to keep the offense open.
