I like it much more than the options floating around.
many don't like Saleh but I tend to agree with you. I don't think many can succeed in NYC, so I'm willing to give him a Mulligan. The guy didn't suddenly forget how to lead men and coach. Would he take the DC position if Zimmer retires? What if we can hire Glenn as HC with Saleh as DC? Then the question would be, whose the oc?

Never had a QB in New York hard to win without one !

yep and the culture THERE was horrible. The players in NYC never trusted their HC and became indifferent to the HC because of the owner/GM and the way the front office is ran. No coach has a chance in that scenario. Too many chiefs , not enough Indians there. In Dallas, at least if we get the right HC in, we can right the ship for a time. Even if its just 3 years. I feel like Saleh MIGHT come in here and shock us.

the more I think about Saleh, the more excited I get. Which likely means next year we're stuck with....

HC K. Moore
OC Witten
DC Zimmer
I really can't see this happening. I think it would be more realistic to be:
HC Zimmer
AHC/OC KMoore or keep Schottenheimer
DC Saleh or Harris
I'm not wanting any of these combos but just trying to read the cheap tea leaves and easy way out of Jerry's mind

In all fairness I don't think the Jets gave an accurate depiction of his Head Coaching abilities
And more guys who have been previously fired with little success have found more success in a later stop than guys who have won a SB and tried to do so again at another stop
But this is also the type of coach to not challenge Jerry to do anything different...
I agree with the bolded part. The Jets are one of those organizations that take people that seem to have a lot of potential and turn them into nothing. No one has been able to be successful there in a long time. Honestly, I don't know a whole lot about Saleh as far as his personality, moreso just what he has done coaching. I'd be fine with him as HC as long as we get a good OC to go with him as I'm sure he'd be much more focused on the defensive side of things...which I'd rather have a guy who could oversee both but those types seem to be becoming more and more rare.

For some reason I was thinking of Matt LaFleur.....like how the heck do you steal Green Bays coach away? Is this Matt's brother?

Many nice points in this thread.

Many good football coaches mentioned.

Raise your hand if you think ANY of them can overcome Jerry and his meddling, and his ‘avoid free agency like the plague’ strategy.

Put Mahomes on the Cowboys and they don’t win. Every one of you knows that.

Not so sure about this analysis. One of the reasons why Saleh was fired from the Jets was because of his on-going disaffection with the owner's wishes. Reportedly he wanted David Carr and not Aaron Rodgers. However, as Garrett recently quipped...there is no changing Jerry Jones:

“I don’t think you spend a lot of time trying to change Jerry Jones. I don’t think that’s going to happen.” - Jason Garrett

Give him play calling responsibility and he can leave. McVay calls the plays with the Rams.
