We really may be even worse off when Jerry's gone.
Truly believe this. Stephen is the Garrett of Front Office personnel with zero ability to gamble or look outside any box.

BTW I brought this up in a post yesterday that this could be happening after seeing Stephen fight Jerry about Deion when Prime was a player

He has been. Jerry is the ringmaster outside. Stephen is the guy behind the curtain. I don’t expect any FA whatsoever for next 10 seasons
He's even more ignorant than Jerry. If he's the guy in charge of free agency, we are more screwed than I thought.

Only if you want it to be. Deion isn't worth getting worked up for. Most around here laughed and mocked the Deion idea, now they're upset. Lol!
I wasn't really big on Deion. Just thought he was the best of the ones Jerry was interested in. We should be interviewing top-notch coaches but instead we settle for someone who wasn't on anybody"s radar.

It is looking that way. If the way we do free agency is Stephen's idea and Schottenheimer is Stephen's idea, I prefer Jerry. I can't believe I'm saying that.

Maybe, but it could be Stephen is so terrible he has no other choice but to hire a GM. If we reach the depths of his capabilities or lack thereof we will be terrible for an extended stretch of time. Eventually the team will hemorrhage revenue as a result. Were already losing the younger fans, and it will get worse.

I'd rather him be a disaster than mediocre. At least being a disaster puts pressure on him.

From the article....

But as you make your choice and as the Cowboys make theirs, recognize this: Brian Schottenheimer will not be the guy because Jerry flew a "solo mission.''

Brian Schottenheimer will be the guy because co-pilot Stephen Jones grabbed the steering wheel.

In one sense, this isn't the last big move being made by Jerry at age 82.

Rather, this might end up being the first big move being made by his heir.

Gulp….well if that’s the case Jerry should tell him I want one more hoorah in FA.

Consider the source here...However, Fisher is not the first media person to suggest this.

Stephen is a cancer to this org. He loses every negotiation, he has continually mismanaged the cap, he has kept the team from signing free agents when it's absolutely necessary, he has dismantled the roster every offseason, and it's all because he is cheap. That's the only reason. He makes decisions because he's cheap. He doesn't care about the team or the results or the fans or the league. He doesn't have any skills or knowledge or ideas of his own. He is just cheap.

The Dallas Cowboys are a moribund franchise right now with fan morale at an all time low. We need something--anything--to show us there is hope.

Deion offers a different way of doing things, a way that isn't the Stephen Jones status quo approach of 'do nothing'. Love him or hate him, Deion would make it interesting to follow the Cowboys again. We would have an identity that's been missing for decades. We would be the most hated team by our rivals again, who now simply pity us. It is the most obvious thing in the world for a team that used to crave--and deserve--the spotlight. And Stephen will prevent it from happening because he is too damn cheap.

The 105.3 the Fan guys were talking about this. Shan Shariff I believe his name is.

They said Stephen wanted to fire McCarthy after the Packers game debacle. Jerry did not want to pay MM millions to stay at home and overrode Stephen. After this disastrous season with MM, Stephen might get his choice this time.

No wonder Stephen Jones "doesn't like" Deion. He has to share enough power with dad...doesn't want another voice drowning him out ...god forbid...he has his own radio show to think about as well.
