Carr wasn't worth the contract year 1 WITH Ryan and Claiborne was never good. He was injured , we gave up far too much to move up and get him, and its safe to say he never lived up to being the #6 pick in the draft. One of the biggest issues with Brandon Carr (and Morris Claiborne as well) was that he was signed to be a press man corner in Rob Ryan's scheme, and beat guys up at the LOS. After year 1 of the contract, Ryan was fired and replaced with Monte Kiffin, who had his corners playing zone, which was not a strength of either Carr or Claiborne. The lack of football philosophy with the Jones Boys is as much to blame as Carr for the production issue.
I never blame coaches or management for the failings of players. Those guys are the ones who lose their individual battles on the field.
