Fisher tweet Kiffen weigh idea of Vaccaro and two DL?

I will say that I trust Kiffin. I am confused with this thread though and that tweet. Did Kiffin say he wanted Vacarro round 1? All I read was he was "weighing in" on the idea.

If Kiffin likes Vaccaro enough then I am not going to argue with him; he's a very, very smart guy.

Sounds like he got on the table for drafting Vacarro and then Logan and another DT (Hill?) in the later rounds. Probably his dream draft, pet cats.

Fisher clarified this on thefan. He said this is Kiffin's plans if some of the other plans don't work out. I assume by that if the OGs and DTs aren't there. Said if the Cowboys do get Vacarro, expect to get Logan in the 3rd.


Also mentioned again about taking Ball at 47 if they get the OG at 18. Said Lacy is at the top of their rb board though.

Plenty of good safeties should be available after the first round though. So do you like Vacarro enough to not wait?

If the best guards aren't there.

Put it this way if we get to the second and we've drafted some bum DT and a TE I'm gonna be ticked. Of Cooper/Warmack/Reid/Vaccaro I think we need to get at least one.

Neither was Troy Polamalu coming out of college. He only had 6 interceptions coming out of school and he was drafted in the same area where Vaccaro is projected to go. Polamalu developed his playmaking skills as he developed more in the NFL and there's definitely a possibility Vaccaro can do the same. I'm not saying he will, but it's a likely possibility Vaccaro will work on them.

That's a good point. I don't know how Vaccaro will do in the NFL, it's just my opinion based on the things I've read. The intangible I like to see in safety is instincts, in running back it's vision. The year we took Roy Williams I was hoping for Ed Reed. If we do pick him I'm OK with it just because I really think they have done their homework the past couple of years going into the draft.
