Fix the run game and you will fix the Cowboys

Not with Dak as the QB. It doesn't matter how many resources they spend on the OL and RB, Dak thinks he's the guy and will always try to win with his arm like he's an elite QB. And Jerry/Stephen feel the same way. He stopped trying to be a bus driver/game manager years ago and now he thinks he's got the skills to carry a team with his arm like he's prime Peyton Manning

Lets be honest.. Dak is going to go into a shell eventually in a big game. The guy is not a big game player and Dak is always at his best when the run game is dominant.

Also, we can get back to playing keep away from our opponent which in turn will help the defense.

Fixing the run game could also be a fairly cheap fix.

The Eagles, 9ers, and Lions have all been top tier NFC teams and they have done it because of their run game while having QBs that are on Dak’s level.

The draft has some incredible RBs all throughout.

I like Jeanty, Henderson, Carson, and Humphrey in that order for Dallas.

We need so many pieces on both sides of the ball but a strong run game could hide a lot of our future problems and there will be many.
On BOTH sides of the ball.

the way you fix this team is the same way you fix any bad team. it's always the same things in this order - bad OL, bad front DL/front 7, bad Secondary.

It always starts in the trenches.
Yeah, until we fix that, nothing else will matter.

Run game is not doing anything for this team who is regularly down by 3 scores or more.

WE need to run the ball better; defend the run better; pass better and defend the pass better
nothing to it

Since it's a weak QB draft, what I'd personally do is Draft O-line in the first and third, Draft D-line in the second, Draft another D-Line or a LB in the 4th, and best left from there.

I think 2025 is already shot for the Cowboys because Dak will come back and play as poorly or almost as poorly as he did this season. I think he's cooked. Even if he plays well in the regular season, he'd choke in the playoffs anyway. So run it back with Dowdle as RB (who might do a fine job) and knowing the Cowboys will not do great in 2025, plan for 2026 and see what the QB crop is in that draft. This MIGHT let us fix both lines before we get a QB for the future. The run game would surely be fixed as long as the coaches stuck with it. That can only help the offense.

That's just my two cents.
I don’t think you need to go Oline in the 1st or 2nd round. I think you have to shore up the run game in the first RB, get another LB, a DT, and OL in the 3rd. We have talent on the OL with decent depth. You can pick up a few FA’s for depth as well. We’re also gonna need a couple of WR’s which we will address in FA or later rounds.

Funny thing is they have found a running game at the last part of the season, and it helped get some wins with a backup QB. This organization has the opportunity to turn this team around next season by being active in FA, and aggressively acquiring players at positions of need. Also, finding coaches with good schemes and teaching acumen.

The formula to winning games is simple

Get you a good running game and let the qb throw it 25 times and THATS IT!!!

If Dak is your qb next season and he throws 25 times he can complete 20 of them

The rest of the time run it ……there’s no good reason to be slinging it 50 times

Not just the run game. They are dead last in the redzone on both sides of the football. Need to be able to run and stop the run down there.

Dallas needs anything and everything so literally just pick the best player.

That’s because we switched to a rookie QB.

Dak played great but Romo was our shot at title with Zeke.
I totally agree..I think Romo was better than Dak I don't think Romo had better players around him than Dak did

Dak at that time was like a super Cooper Rush.

He did the basics, didn’t turn the ball over, and he had just enough mobility to frustrate defenses.

Now Dak is trying to carry us with his arm talent and mediocre at best run game and we just aren’t that good anymore.

Run game is my top priority if I’m Dallas.

Youre right, this is the best chance they have at improving is developing a strong run game
Strong run game can open up the playbook on offense and keep the defense off the field

Do you have a suggestion? A name? It sounds easy enough, but there has to be that guy.
Drafting a QB high is not always the answer, you have to find a good QB that can improve your team

Most of them do not become great.

Dowdle needs 93 yards to get to 1100 a 65 avg per game . I’ve said it before try to get him to a sensible signing and draft a Dylan Sampson to compliment him .

And Dowdle needs to work on holding on to the ball near the goal line teams have tape on him coughing it up .
