Many here seem down on our backup qbs. The pats just released Flynn (hamstring) and signed Lindley. Any interest? I am in the minority thinking Weeden is ok, but would never give up the opportunity to improve the team.

No. He sucks and is injured.

When healthy, I'd take Flynn over Weeden any day. If Flynn "sucks", what exactly is Weeden? He's worse.

And in terms of backup QBs, Flynn is better than most backups in the league. You're not finding a stud 30 year old QB in FA at this stage. Backup QBs like Schaub, Hill, and Flynn were ideal backup QBs at the start of FA.

I was thinking about it when I heard he was released, but you have to wonder when he would be available?

Okay. Let's say Jones signs Flynn. Which question would the Dallas/ESPN media ask Flynn first?

1. How do you think you can help your new team? or
2. What did you think about beating Dallas two years ago after leading Green Bay back from 23 points down?

Not a Weeden fan but I think he is a better system fit than Flynn.

Patriots do some thing to get rid of the ball quick and get the ball in their playmakers hands.

Dallas wants to wait forever for a route to develop deeper down the field and Weeden has great arm strength so i'd rather stick with him.

Where is the proof Flynn does not suck? Or sucks less then Weeden?

And...let's say he does suck less then Weeden. It is not like somehow Flynn crosses over some benchmark of sucking less and thus being a viable backup QB.

LOL Flynn just beat us two years ago at home. If he sucks imagine the horrible words we could use to describe Weeden!

How many other backup QBs have you seen have success against the Cowboys? Dallas is pathetic against backup QBs. It is a terrible running joke.

Flynn played respectably when Rodgers went down in 2013. Now show me proof that he sucks as a BACKUP, not a starter, a backup? You know, what we would be bringing him in for.

Except Flynn has proven he can play at a decent to good level when taking over for an injured starter. Weeden looked terrible against the Cardinals and has looked like a rookie in practice.

Flynn did his job and did it well for the Packers in 2013. A couple of the wins he had, one of them against us, were vital for getting them into a playoff spot. Remember when Rodgers returned, that Bears game would have been meaningless if Flynn didn't win a game or two.

That's what Flynn would be brought in for, if Romo goes down for a game or two, we can pull out a win that could come in handy later in the season.

I always thought he was a well respected backup. If he does suck, who do you guys consider to be a good backup? Every backup is going to have flaws (or else they'd be starting somewhere in this qb hungry league). The exceptions are the young guys who are being groomed to be the qb of thd future.

What is being suggested here? A one leg injured QB is better than Weeden? Unless that QB's name is Aaron Rodgers, I say no.
