I'm not wishing for his release at all. I hope he goes on IR and gets healthy for next yr. He was too good for too long (two full seasons). I'd hate to see him cut loose and go elsewhere, then turn into a bigtime kicker again.

I'm 100% buying the mechanics issue in terms of he is compensating for the hip injury, and its got him ina major funk.

I know what you're saying, but I did fully appreciate him. It was comforting, before this year, when we lined up for a FG knowing he was going to make it. After all those years with all those other kickers, he was a breath of fresh air. He may or may not ever get it back, but he's worth keeping around to see if he can. However, let somebody else kick for the remainder of this year. They couldn't do any worse than Folk has.

We have not released Folk. Werder said that the Cowboys still believe he can be the answer longtime. They are considering shutting him down or placing him on IR.

This is exactly what will happen to Folk and I completely understand what the team is doing.

He needs to shut it down and go to IR and let them all work it out. Folk is young and has proven to be a fantastic kicker.

What about Buehler? He may not be the long term answer but he has to have been practicing and improving over the year. Who could we bring in that would be better? He certainly has the leg and he might just be able to win the spot out right.

Everyone knows I hate Kickers. I literally can't stand them.

Having said that I want to talk about one thing. I got a chance to see Jason Hansen kick a 58 yard field goal in college when he was at Washington State. I have never seen a kick travel that far. It not only cleared the cross bar it was above the tops of the uprights by a good 10 feet. I remember thinking then that he would be a good Kicker in the NFL and I wouldn't have minded getting him.

I thought we got that in Nick Folk. I thought he could be a weapon here for 15 years. I saw him kick a FG for Arizona to win a game and it was as clutch a kick as I think I have ever seen. He also was booming kickoffs and punts.

I wrote the Cowboys about him. I have no idea if that had any impact at all. Right now, I hope the hell it didn't. He has been a plague on the season. Typical damned Kicker.

He was awesome his first 2 years here. I have no idea what the heck he allowed to get between his ears and ruin this season. I still would like a 15 year Kicker, but I don't want one who isn't worth a painful piss.
