This is one of the most prolific franchises in sports history. Bringing a title back here would even be something a guy like bellicheck would prob relish.

JJ is getting up there in age he wants to win. I think anything is possible

I keep reading “if we only got this hc or that hc”, we’d would actually participate in the playoffs past the Div round.

Unfortunately, Jerry only hires coaches that sign over their power to hire their own staff, sign over the power normally assigned to nfl head coaches in 31 other cities, and hand in their man card to be Jerry’s whipping boy. So what legitimate winning hc would want to coach for head coach Jerry?

So there is not a top NFL or college coach that’s dumb enough to end their NFL head coaching career in Dallas. After Jimmy, only Chan Gailey has ever got another hc position in the nfl. Dallas is where coaches come to watch their hc career die.

Big Mac is on watch cause if we lose early in playoffs, the search is on for the next “hc” who doesn’t mind ending his hc career in Dallas.

We have to try to win with so many obstacles the fuhrer puts in the way of the players and coaches and I’d say this years team has really done well. The question is if we can get the almost 30 year monkey off our back.
Did you just go back, dig up a post from any season between 1995 and 2022 and cut and paste?

This is such a tired subject aside from the fact that some of your opinions are just wrong.

Jerry can get almost any coach he wants. A HC is more concerned about the roster he’s gonna get than the owner

And it isn’t Belichick’s coaching that is the problem in New England, it is his GM skills. That team is just devoid of much talent. He can’t do much with it… no one could.

Give Bill a team where the front office consistently brings in good talent, like Dallas, and he’d be a “great” coach again.

He 100% needs to have someone else deciding on the players to bring in.
Good freaking point!

Many here were wishing for Sean Peyton. Looks like we got lucky by not getting him...

You need to focus on a new DC instead of a new HC.

Parcells did pretty good her….but yeah, only middling coaches would sign here, a sting minded HC couldn’t work with Jerry.

Parcells once said that coaching for the Cowboys is like playing in the Big room in Vegas. Your post has been reviewed and rated as FALSE! TY…

Actually Sean Payton would have been a good choice if he was a complete free agent and you didn't need to give any compensation for him the problem is the Saints weren't gonna allow us to get him without draft picks that was the big issue... He's actually doing pretty well turning that stuff around from earlier in the year in Denver but the problem is compensation he would not have been worth that not at all...

Sean Payton would have been my choice years ago; not so sure now. Denver does seem to be better but how much is it him?
I keep thinking back on the fact that even with a HOF QB in Brees he only got to one SB.
Sort of like MM; HOF QB and one SB

Though I would almost sell my soul to get just ONE SB NOW...

Tomlin “elite” in this thread. Guy has not won a playoff game in 7 years. Embarrassing standards if that’s elite.
Imagine how badly a Cowboys coach would be trashed for that. A lot of Cowboy fans are prepping to fire a coach with 3 straight 12 win seasons.

No way in hell would we call Tomlin elite.

Who was the Chargers coach that won like 12 games and the division then got fired?

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The San Diego Chargers sacked coach Marty Schottenheimer on Monday after he led the team to an NFL best 14-2 record last season but failed to deliver a Super Bowl.

In this era you have Belichick, who ran up historic success with the greatest QB ever. Then you have Andy Reid. After that there isn't a head coach with a better resume than Mike McCarthy.

It's amazing to see what little respect

MM is easily our best since Tuna, and is the top of the chart of what we can even hope for. I'm ecstatic to have him as he is a legit NFL HC. No, he's not the best evereverever or anything, but he is competent, and much better than I'd hoped for when we were mired in Jasonosis.
My point is I wish Mac could have the power normally attributed to an nfl hc. Having this authority matters.

The only fool thing in here is this post I mean Mike McCarthy is a top head coach Super Bowl winner three straight years going on with probably gonna be 12 wins and the playoffs somehow he's not a top coach he's one of the top head coaches in win percentage of all time I mean I don't know where he sits but the delusion here it's the thing that we have not had any top coaches since Jimmy and Barry switzer was a top coach Parcells what's a top coach Mike McCarthy is a top coach and I'm betting then if needed which I don't think we will need it coaching change if it were to come open a lot of these alleged head coaches that you think wouldn't come here but come here in a heartbeat...FACT
He’s not a top coach unless we play in the nfc championship game. That’s the gold standard in Dallas no matter how much the fuhrer has lowered fan expectations.
