Fools Gold

Love the whole Giants have had the lead on teams for zero minutes only to have the lead on the Cowboys a few moments later.

Cowboys won and that’s what they play for. Dowdle played really well. Overshown and Parsons are demons. But they beat the worst team in the NFL.

Jerry West used to refer to this as the biggest sin a sports franchise could commit, not good enough to compete for championships, not bad enough to draft game changing players. Throw in a FO who is terrified of free agency, and you have 28 years of mediocrity.

I guarantee you that our front office right now is thinking if they just could have stayed healthy they'd have made a serious run this year.

McCarthy stays, continuity in the offseason and Rockport returns.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
What happened to Rockport? Where did he go?

Of course they think that. It's probably pretty close to the truth.

Another pointless win and more talking bs points for Jerry.

The giants gave us that game on a silver platter and our D still let them score 20 freaking points.

The giants will get a new HC and a high drafted QB. Mark my words, the giants will get to a NFC championship game before we will.
Not to Dak Haters..this is what they wanted.. Prescott gone

The is Desmond Ridder level excited..

Dak Haters know their QBs! Did you see the Pre-season Trey Lance concert :lmao2:  :lmao:

So.....you are suggesting that the best way to win a championship is to acquire the best players. This is accomplished by providing conditions that increase the probability of losing games. This is referred to as "tanking". This is done in order select better players in the draft.

Do I have this right?

You believe that the problem with the Cowboys is that they don't have superior quality talent, is that also correct?

I'm sure you realize that the draft will typically yield 6-8 new, young, inexperienced players to the remaining 30+ players they keep on the team.

Obviously, they have been losing more frequently lately or we wouldn't be talking about tanking, right? And, of course, tanking is going to add more losses to the losses they have already endured.

It sounds like that would be a real confident and inspired team marching into 2025.

But, then again.......The Cowboys have had some of the best talent in the NFL. The five previous combined drafts of 2019 to 2023 have yielded 5 1st team All-Pros and 13 pro Bowl Selections. No other team has more.

Is it really a lack of talent?

Or, is it a lack of emphasis placed on winning? Are other things more important than winning like marketing and sales?

.........and draft position?

You are right. I'm not just saying it's draft..

We need a qualified GM.
We need a good QB.
We need to not have anyone on the team be the top paid position in the league.
We need to not have a star culture.
We need to not have people like Parsons.
We need a coach that instills discipline in addition to being good at all aspects of his job.
We need to invest in the trenches.

We need to be savvy with trades and embrace free agency to fill gaps.
We need to be quick to cut people.

We do just about everything wrong as a professional franchise .

this is Jerrys way of telling you

DUH what do you think the last 30 years have been about?

Giants are the worst team in the league bar none. Overshown and Dowdle are turning into star players. Other than that, very little positive about this game.

thank god we were all wrong about Trey Lance and signed the GOAT Dak to that massive deal.

Thankfully we have people like you to remind us all how dumb we were and can look forward to 4 more years of superbowl wins. :lmao::lmao2::laugh:

Thanks Richard, you just gave me nightmares. It was peaceful around here, and now you’ve done it.

All true and 31 other teams can change GM so yeah I don’t see us making an nfc championship games as long as the Jones family owns the team. And Jerry will likely be in charge for another 10+ years.

We ain't sniffing a NFCCG as long as Jerry is GM.
PERIOD

The first line.

Everything else follows from that.

Actually I cheer when we lose. Only way to force a change.
Losing or winning will never force a change for the cowboys.

The only way to force a change for the cowboys is to have two separate managerial positions for the cowboys, held by two different people, who are not family members. Those positions being the owner and the general manager, where the general manager is held accountable to the owner.

There is only one NFL owner who isn't a billionaire. Everyone other owner is. Ironically, the net worth of the owner isn't directly related to the "net worth" of the football team. Prime example, the Hunt family (owners of the Chiefs) are the second richest family who own a football team, and the third richest owner (Tepper) owns the Panthers.

The only owner of a NFL team who isn't listed as a billionaire still has their team valued at 4.1 billion dollars.

We can talk about how the salary cap affects all the teams, but the reality is the salary cap isn't the issue, the issue is the decisions the owner makes in the people they hire and how interactive they are (or not) in their own "football business".

Yep. Its crazy how all of Jerry's sheep cheer on wins like this. All we did was lose draft position. We will be picking middle of the first as per usual. This stuff only fuels Jerry's delusions about how close this trash team is to contending.Mike will get an extension, wash rinse repeat. Same losing formula that's plauged this team for 30 years.
