I know the history. I'm the one that corrected you. Jerry's first losing season didn't bring in Aikman or a franchise QB, unless that's what you consider Walsh. Aikman was drafted after Jerry bought the team.

And Norv came in in 1991after Walsh was traded to the Saints, so you'd be wrong again. I don't know what point you're trying to make but if it's "losing brought a franchise QB," I'm assuming due the poor record and high draft position, you'd be wrong.

Don't pay attention to direction of a conversation...then you should already know direction and intent attempted.

I said direction on Troy and Norv...by the way, Norv, not Jimmy - saved Troy Aikman when he did arrive. Man, they must have let the arrogant bug lose on this board today. Walsh was Jimmy's choice, by the way. You are the one incorrectly grouping years in sequences stated.

I added the information to put my original premise, that losing was a good thing, when Jerry bought the Cowboys, and probably now. My point was that a franchise quarterback was the first pick by Jerry Jones' Cowboys...and following a losing season. I then brought out that an improvement even better occurred LAST season...you following?

Dallas gained both Zeke Elliott and Dak Prescott, again following another significant losing season...again pointing out the 3 win season before Jerry had his first draft. Then a 4 win season prior to getting Elliott and Prescott.

To further develop comparison, I brought out Turner and a comparison to a very successful coordination now. He has developed a franchise quality quarterback as well.

Your rush to strut missed the actual message as well as development of a conversation around it.

No, you have NO clue as to calculus and beyond...but should actually invest in listening skills. Your FACTS insulted upon, were shallow and missed what actually was communicated. My point still is, that what was accomplished in Jerry's first four seasons, is possibly being duplicated right here and now. Even if your math is poor.

It was great to see the Cowboys back in action; however, I immediately remember some of the things that irritate me about football.

1. The announcers/networks don't give the preseason games and the players on the field ANY respect. That's disrespectful to the fans also. They just blabber on about old players and other issues while completely ignoring the game for long stretches. They do interviews that interfere with watching the game.

There are sports channels where they have all the time in the world to do those interviews.

2. The Fans/Media over-reactions and incredible displays of ignorance. Taco's a bust, Moore can't play QB, Heath sucks, somebody else sucks after playing 1/4 of a preseason game, the Cowboys have failed, blah blah blah.. It's one game where the starters didn't play and the rookies don't have veterans on the field with them to help them. Most players are not going to look great in this type of game.
I agree except Heath does suck

They even have name for it (if you assume that feelings of certainlty leads to being emphatic about it).

Great link.

I'll think of Freddy Krueger when I think about this concept.

There were some good quote at that link:
Confucius: “Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance”

William Shakespeare: “The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool”

Charles Darwin: “Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge”

I know I am intelligent, because I don't know a damn thing about anything.

I haven't tried it
My lips are moist now
Last week I was on a business trip. We were discussing Johnnie Walker. In the car I said to a coworker "Have you tried Johnnie Walker Double Black"? We got back to the Hotel and by the time I got to the table he had ordered us both Double Johnnie Walker Blacks instead of Johnnie Walker Double Blacks. It was really funny.

Many fans thought the Cowboys should have drafted Merriman instead of Ware. There was constant talk about that during Ware's first training camp.

While that is TRUE. It doesn't validate anything other than we don't know for sure anything yet. But we do know how he played in the first game against scrubs.

It's the first preseason game of the year. You're damned if you do or damned if you don't. Just sit back and enjoy the game for what it's worth which is very little, especially this game.
You need to add "very" in there a few more times.

NBC normally does an hour of pre-game coverage. They could do interviews then.

It seemed like NBC interviewed a HOF player every time the Cowboys had the ball Thursday night. It drove me crazy because I really wanted to watch Rico Gathers, Noah Brown, and some of the other players we've been hearing about at camp.

The Cowboys selected Aikman on April 23rd, 1989. They then selected Walsh during the supplemental draft on July 7th, 1989. Two months apart in the same year. So by what you just said you may consider them both franchise QB's. Both were drafted after Jerry bought the team on February 25th of that year. And...

Technically neither of them came from a losing season under Jones. Since the first game the cowboys played with him as owner was September 10th, three months later.

28 years things get fuzzy and easy to forget. I had to google it before i posted that to make sure I was thinking right.

That said, I can't believe it has been 28 years.
