Spears is definitely not worth a first round pick. Most of the people on this board was high on him. I thought he was overrated. Spears needs to do SOMETHING.

Exactly, Spears has played admirably against the run. He was doing well against Indy and Tampa before getting very very sick and playing fatigued and miserable against New York. He is coming around but he is not in a very good state of well being right now.

He will never have 10 sacks a season, probably 3 to 5 if he's lucky. He's there for the run and he needs to improve his collapsing of the pocket. He's 23, plenty of time to improve.

That being the case, Winicki should go by the name of Kenneth Winicki.

Some point on this board that one of their objections to Parcells was his bringing some of his old vet players in. They cite Ward, Willey, etc.. Agree those players didn't help us but you conveniently leave out other players who did. Should we cut them right now cause as old Parcells players we don't want them on our team. So we'll cut Terry Glenn today along with Aaron Glenn & Ferguson. And of course we all agree that Bledsoe should be gone along with Fabini but what about those other players (who didn't play for Parcells but whom he brought in here) like Singleton & even Gramatica who, although not a Parcells guy was someone Parcells just decided to add to the team. Is it you object to his old players or any player he brings in--whether old or not. Of course we already got rid of Keyshawn who was totally worthless while he was here because he was an old Parcells player. And where does that leave us with Romo, yes Romo. Cowboys signed him as an undrafted free agent on Parcells watch. Did Romo (who had offers from numerous other teams) sign with us cause he loved the Cowboys (he was a Packer fan but also would have signed with the Bears if they contacted him) or cause he wanted play for Parcells or for Sean Peyton, a former Giant coach--ops that old Giant connection. We can't have that. Glad Peyton's gone as well.

Point is Parcells brought in some older players who helped us a lot and some are still helping us. He also brought in players who he had no previous connection with and many worked out/some did not. Guess we must pardon Parcells for not being perfect, although he sure looks real good right now.

According to Brad Sham during a Dallascowboys.com interview, Spears was "sick as a dog" all last week and played while extraordinarily ill (speculation being the flu). His performance showed against the Giants, his health is a concern for it has effected his play.

Sham and Spagnola noted that prior to his illness he was playing much better especially in the Thanksgiving game.

So back off chicken littles, he was off, he was sick, he'll rest up and continue to improve.

Is BP in that "haters' group"? He is the one telling the DEs they must do better.
