A I told you so THREAD.

I don't think so, if you want to go and do a search be my guest. If I am wrong I am Wrong.

I'm totally searching.

Then, I'm going to make an I told you so thread stating that I told BP that he made an I told you so thread, even though I never did.

Then I will rule the world.

Naw, I'm not interested in "proving you wrong", or "proving you right"...

My point was a much simpler one, that "I told you so" is a major part of every football board I've ever wandered into... folks had REAL strong opinions on both sides of the Ahmad Brooks issue back at the time of the supplemental draft, and I think it's unrealistic of you to expect that we wouldn't revisit that topic at some point...

And being annoyed by the I told you so threads are also a major part of every football board.

I don't find it unrealist to bring up topics and I told you so threads...I find it very realistic because it happens all the time, which is why I find them so annoying.

Woo..Look at me...I told you guys. Horn.Toot.

Doesn't mean squat. One diddly game. whoopppeeee.

Hey, if he was as bad as you claimed, he wouldn't even be capable of "one diddly game"...

Hes still a thug untill proven otherwise. ANd that will take a couple of years. Post then and maybe you will have a point.

Since I'm strictly talking about his TALENT here, I have a point right now...

You can try to change the argument, to make it appear that your only criticisms were about his lack of character, but even in this thread, you have once again characterized him as "overrated"...

That's a talent issue, not a character issue...

This punk maybe can keep it together for a little while,

Oh look, the judgemental, holier than thou critic is calling somebody a "thug"...

What a COMPELLING argument...

but sooner or later the inner stupidity will come out and he will blow it.

Hmmm, maybe your on to something-- after all, your "inner stupidity" comes out on a regular basis, doesn't it??

What's fun is that I started this thread with YOU in mind... I KNEW you wouldn't be able to stay away from it... LOL...

I'd just like you to consider that you took a rather lighthearted comeback of mine way too personally...

Lets see just how many posts have I had on this thread. This makes #4 out of at this point 28. Meanwhile you have had to post how many trying to justify your man love for Brooks?

I fully expect Brooks to get in off-field trouble at some point.
I truly believe that had Groh recommended Brooks to BP, that we'd probably have him right now. I suspect that Groh talked to BP and told him to pass. JMO.
I don't think anyone doubted Brooks ability to play, just his ability to stay out of trouble.

Ditto:cool:

I certainly doubt his ability to play at a high level for any reasonable period of time- say a full season.

From Ben Maller's NFL Rumors & Notes:

Ahmad Brooks, whom Cincinnati selected out of Virginia in the third round of the supplemental draft in July, had his first NFL start and had 11 tackles against Tampa Bay.

The guy's got no game at all... :D

:lmao2:

Who. Five or six people? We are talking about a supplemental draft pick, right? Who plays a position we're stacked at?

IIRC, YOU were one of the ones insisting he'd never be worth a hammered crap...

Horsecrap. Get your butt to Google and find one post of mine addressing this guy or why we should have drafted him. I've never given this player one moment's thought till I saw your (latest) stupid post.

Of course, you've raised being wrong to an art form...

Crawl back to Usenet with the other losers.

Get back to me if that happens...

You don't know that the Cowboys didn't put in a bid for him... obviously, if they did, it wasn't as good a pick as the Bungles' third rounder was...

I don't think anyone doubted Brooks ability to play, just his ability to stay out of trouble.

Then you weren't paying attention back then, or now...

Because of this post I'm now a Ahmad Brooks hater... :hammer:

You are aware that Brooks got his start because they have 3 or 4 LB's out for various reason right?

If 3 of our Lb's go out.. I'm pretty sure that Carpenter will play.. After Singleton and Burnett

He may turn out ok.. but let's not pretend that he played his way into the starting lineup because that was not the case.

Also as a middle linebacker you should be expected to have the MOST tackles during a game. Although 11 in nice, it speaks volumes about your defensive line when you have THAT many in a game. (meaning the suck horribly)

As for me. Not impressed. I hate Ahmad Brooks. :D

I'm a Virginia alumnus and season ticket holder.

I wouldn't have used a first-day pick on Brooks, and probably nothing above a 5th-rounder. We don't need players on the team who can't stay on the field, regardless of the reason, and I won't lament that the fact that Brooks isn't a Cowboy, no matter how well he does. Above the fourth round, he wasn't a risk I wanted the team to take.

But saying Ahmad Brooks is a "thug" and/or "troublemaker" is 100% inaccurate.

Brooks had academic problems and pot issues in college. He never beat anybody up, never stole anything, NEVER RECEIVED A DUI, never molested anyone, never had sex with minors, never badmouthed his coaches or teammates and never violated any law or caused problems for his team other than by smoking pot and not being on the field. The only trouble Ahmad Brooks caused at the University of Virginia was for himself.
