The only reason Holt is on the market is because he is not worth nearly $10M per year. He is going into the HOF five years after he retires in 2-6years or so. And is still pretty fast. Not 4.3 anymore but still stretches the field besides being a great route runner with great hands.

My guess is he'll either go to a SB team for a ring at 5M+ per year or he'll sign for more money esp the guaranteed kind. I'd love to have him but I would rather spend the money elsewhere if possible.

:lmao: you think Owens is better than Moss?:lmao2:

Not only that apparently he thinks TO is better than Jerry Rice too. He says Rice just had better QBs throwing to him....

This is comedic gold.

I'm sorry, Montana and Young were trash.

You need to work on your reading comprehension. I never said he didn't have better QBs throwing to him.

Anybody heard anything about where Holt is going to sign???

I give us about a 10% chance, just dont see Jerry going for a vet WR at this point.

Depends on the money. I don't think we'll spend more than 5M a year on him and not much more than that guaranteed. I think Holt can do better. The Ravens or the like would be a good place for him although I think we're a good bet to go to the SB as well.

Watch for Tennessee to be active as well.

Titans, Vikings, Niners, Jags, Panthers, Jets and maybe even the Colts, among others...I still think the Cards might be involved if they trade Boldin

There are going to be alot of teams looking at him and willing to pay some decent $$$, I doubt we'll even make a call to him.

Oh really! Here's a link to an NFL.com page that begs to differ.

They tried to trade for Holt but he didn't renegotiate his contract that tells me he wants to either get paid the same amount or he doesn't want to go to Tennessee. I doubt Holt believed he was going to make $8 million a season after watching Owens sign for $6.5 million for 1 year in Buffalo having a much more productive season.

I think Holt doesn't want to go to Tennessee. The Vikings, Panthers, Jets and Giants aren't considering him. The Titans ad 49ers are the teams that courted him the most and I believe Holt is not interested in either at this point due to the QB situations on both teams and the fact neither are considered SB contenders despite Tennessee's regular season record.

If no other suitors arise then Holt would have to weigh both options from those teams. I do believe Dallas and Indy are a good fit for Holt and if either showed interest would be front runners for his services and rightfully so.

Yeah. BTW, I used to hate Henry Ellard. He was a thorn in the Cowboys' side for years. Great WR.

The 6.5M a year is really enough if guaranteed, IMO. I'm not certain at his age he's going to get that much although to me he's more valuable than TO. I'd love to have Holt but I'm not certain he's worth it. I think the offense can avg 25+ pts a game as it is.

Looks like Tennessee might be the most active pursuer....

Like some posters have already said, it doesnt appear Holt wants to go to Tennesse since he refused to renegotiate his contract.

Players usually redo contracts to facilitate a trade (see Kitna). When they dont, that is a huge red flag that usually means that they dont want to go to that particular team.

Another problem is that Bud Adams is a cheap arse, seriously. I followed the Oilers for years before he moved the team to Tennessee and he was notoriously cheap even back then.

Why do you think so many free agents leave Tennessee when they get the chance or sent packing by the team (Samari Rolle, Jon Runyan, Derick Mason, Eddie George, Steve McNair, Javon Kearse, Brandon Jones, Albert Haynesworth, ect....)

I will be very surprised if Holt signs with them.

Has he signed with us yet? Not like we really need him unless God forbid happens. Can't even say it...

I don't see how we wouldn't be a better team with Holt as our number 2 WR.

Dont hold your breathe waiting for us to sign him, he is going to want way too much money to come here.
